Application

Erm, my application:

1. Name:

Krish Patel

2. Age:

13 (Grade 9)

3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose?

I would say Rome because something about it, the lights, the view, the food, the culture, the ART especially that has always pulled me towards it. It just seems so heavenly, I should say. Also, I would love to always be able to see the great sculptures and artwork that are currently held in Rome and the Vatican.

I would also wish to stay here, in Canada, as it gives me a sense of security and belonging. I'm comfortable here, and I love the government, nature, systems of Canada.

4. What would your Room of Requirement look like?

Well, I always need a book with me. No matter what. I should think it would look like an old style library, with books covering the walls in a semi-circle, shelves filled with artifacts and writing/drawing utensils. It would have a comfortable lounge chair, as well as a table. I would want a camera, computer if allowed), paper, paints, etc. Most of all, I would love for it to have a fireplace, a view of the lake and sky outside, and a feast table. Candles and music would be nice. :P

5. Who is your least favorite Harry Potter character?

Storywise, I would say Hagrid. He is a wonderful person, but his stories are just so boring. Whenever I go to read OoTP, and hit the Giant's part, I just get so bored.

Character-wise, I should say Umbridge and Peter. Not only was Umbridge extremely cruel, she also used her advantages of working in the ministry to manipulate people (Harry, etc). Peter, although I'm sure he was alright before the whole Secret Keeper betrayal, was just such a backstabber. He was partly responsible in the murder of the Potters, the resurrection of Voldemort (which equalled to more killings), etc.

6. Is the glass half empty or half full?

I think both ways; it depends on the situation. If I'm angry or down, I would say that the glass was half empty, but if I was happy, I would say that the glass was half full. Or something along the lines of that.

7. Give us a quotation (Can be from a famous person, a song, or even a poem-whatever you want) you feel represents your life or personality.

I have alot.

8. In your life, who comes first: family or friends?

I should say they both come first, equally, as I count friends as family. They make me want to live to my fullest, and encourage me in many ways. They both contribute to the good influences in my life.

9. What is your favorite childhood memory?

Erm...I don't have very many. I would say my most favourite was when, after my first day of school (or daycare) I came home to show my mum the "mark" (happy face, who can blame me) that I got for a drawing.

10. What would you say is your biggest flaw?

I have many. I would say it's when I try to help people. When I try to help them, I sometimes become too engrossed in their lives, and sometimes, they just don't need it.

I also show too much motherly affection for many people. I always welcome people, care for them, watch out for them, and most of the time, it's used as an advantage over me. I also disappear into books when there's something much too stressful to face. Hmm, there's also another part of me, where I am just too afraid to show my feelings to others, and I tend to put the lives and stories of others' before mine...I'm afraid to just let loose and let go, and to open up. I just can't seem to do that.

I always need great marks. I can not tolerate an 80% or below. It just gets to me. This probably accompanies my "need to please everyone all the time."

Also, I 'm extremely insecure about myself. I just don't have alot of confidence unless it's on trivia or something from a book. *nerd*

11. If you had been at Hogwarts during Harry’s fifth year, do you think that you would have joined the D.A.?

Of course. No doubt about it. The fact that I don't like Umbridge, and that I respect Dumbledore and his lessons more than the Ministry's version contribute to that decision. Although the fact that I am a stickler for rules most of the time might conflict with this.

12. Describe how you react to difficult or stressful situations.

When I'm in a stressful situation, I usually panic a little. But if everyone else is as well, then I try to figure out what to do, as no one else is helping. I focus on the problem, try to understand it, and try to overcome it. I'm usually a peacekeeper.

13. Which do you value more: compassion or justice?

Whoa. Hard. Erm...I would say Justice. I believe in right and wrong, and that people should be punished if they did something that they knew was wrong, but still did it Justice should come first, and then compassion. Although if the “wrong” was an accident, then compassion would come in…*is rambling*

14. Is the glass half-empty or half-full?

I think I’m in between. I would say that because sometime I act like a child in situations and conflicts, and sometimes I assess the situation in an adult manner. Hard to explain. Sometimes I just act like a child and in other times like an adult.

15. Which Hogwarts House do you think that the Sorting Hat would place you in?

I think the Sorting hat would put me in either Gryffindor or Ravenclaw, because I think I posses the qualities that are in each of these. I try to be brave in situations, often taking control, I am loyal, and kind, yet I can easily manipulate ideas or people even. Also, er…Intelligence? Yes.

16. If you have a picture of yourself and feel comfortable posting it, please do so!  Pictures are fun!

Sure they are.
