and all I really want is some comfort

1. Name: Elena

2. Age: Old enough to race down the aisles with a shopping cart at breakneck speed, but too young to drink. Legally. XD

3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose? There isn’t really a single or specific place I’d choose, to be perfectly honest. I love snow, but then again, I love warm, sandy beaches. Hell, just give me a pretty place with nature (I'm a country girl at heart; grew up there, anyway), sports, and the Internet, and I’d live. I hope I’m allowed my occasional escapes to the Florida Keys, though. *cough*

4. What would your Room of Requirement look like? A tennis court, with a pretty beach on the horizon. Who wouldn’t want to relax on a sunny shoreline after a few hours of hardcore competition? It feels great. Or maybe I’m just a fanatic. Really, I just want a place to play my favorite sport, then relax before the day's done.

5. Who is your least favorite Harry Potter character? What’s the point of Pansy Parkinson? Seriously. I think Rowling felt she needed SOME type of female Slytherin counterpart to Draco, hence - enter Pansy. Not that I mind that we see as little of her as possible. She’s not relevant to the plot at all. She’s just there to cling to Draco, shriek in laughter, and malign people who’d rather not have anything to do with her. In short, she’s an unfunny bitch and a space-filler. Any questions?

6. Is the glass half empty or half full? Half full, though I consider myself a realist. Frankly, I think it’s healthier for the mind if one generally looks for the brighter sides and the silver linings, but still keeps an amount of skepticism and cynicism about him/herself.

7. Give us a quotation (Can be from a famous person, a song, or even a poem-whatever you want) you feel represents your life or personality.

“What, Sir, would the people of the earth be without woman? They would be scarce, sir, almighty scarce.” - Mark Twain

Damn straight, Twain. I wouldn’t call myself a feminist, exactly. But I definitely believe in the power of my gender to make a difference. We all know men would be lost without us, right, girls? Yes. Um. I’d like to consider myself a strong woman. And - I really have no idea why I chose this damn quote!

Oh, and this one, of course: “Carpe diem.” Seize the day. You never know when you won’t have another opportunity to do something, or to meet up with someone. There's no point in waiting. Live for the moment, and ride out life in style.

8. In your life, who comes first: family or friends? It’s hard to choose between the two, but I’ll have to go with family here. I’m loyal to my family first. They raised me, and I’d like to think they did a decent job. Besides, close friends practically become family over time.

9. What is your favorite childhood memory? Running around our GIGANTIC backyard in rural Massachusetts and lying in the shade of the trees, watching inchworms drop from the branches. That was fun and perfectly carefree, though I did have to watch out for my dog’s tongue. (He tended to slobber over my face as often as possible.)

10. What would you say is your biggest flaw? Frankly? I can be bitchy when I'm in a mood. I can be very blunt, and I don’t really stop to think if it hurts people. I just say what I like and what I think, you know? I also like to, ah, be the center of attention sometimes -- I'd take up almost any starring role in a play in a heartbeat, for instance.

11. If you had been at Hogwarts during Harry’s fifth year, do you think that you would have joined the D.A.? Oh yeah, definitely. Who wouldn’t want to become a better fighter? Besides, you’d have the thrilling feeling of going against a tyrant rolled into that situation, too.

12. Describe how you react to difficult or stressful situations. I curse. A lot. My language is typically clean unless I’m angry, afraid, or stressed. But anyway, I curse and - just take care of things. I sort out priorities and usually manage to pull out okay, though - that’s kind of a result of being the ultimate procrastinator in school, with all the exams and papers due the next day.

13. Which do you value more: compassion or justice? Justice. It may sound brutal, but I’m sorry - I’m just not inclined to show sympathy to people who couldn’t show the same to others. I guess I’m just cold that way.

14. Would you say that you’re a child at heart, or that you have an old soul? A bit of both, actually. I mean, a lot of the time, I FEEL older, or at least more mature, than many people I know - even the ones several years older than I am. And as a fifth grader, I was more likely to be reading and studying than running off to the latest Hanson concert. I protest the “old soul” label, though. I’m still someone who twirls around under falling snow -- you wouldn't see many old souls doing that, would you?

15. Which Hogwarts House do you think that the Sorting Hat would place you in? To be totally frank, Gryffindor. Gryffindor, Gryffindor, a thousand times, Gryffindor. It’s just the way I am. I’m outspoken, and probably a bit impulsive - yeah, all right, more than a bit. I don't know if stubbornness and some show-offiness can be considered solely a Gryffindor trait, but I have those, too. I was (and still am) very serious about grades and learning about certain subjects, just not some of the work that goes into it. I used to think I was more of a Ravenclaw, but then I hit college. *shifty eyes* Take that as you will.
