Harold & Maude

1. Name: Laura

2. Age: 28

3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose? The Netherlands, P.E.I, or possibly New Zealand. The Netherlands because I have family there and I've always wanted to visit, P.E.I because I've always wanted to go there (huge Anne of G.G fan too), and New Zealand because I'm a fan of LOTR.

4. What would your Room of Requirement look like? It would be filled with books, books, and more books. There'd also be a stereo, my record collection, and lots of cds. Comfy couches, warm blankets, huge pillows, chocolate milk on hand at all times, lots of nice plants.. Incense burning. It would basically be a cozy place to relax and do some reading or to listen to music...

5. Who is your least favorite Harry Potter character? It's a tie between Umbridge and Cornelius Fudge. I can't stand when know-it-all morons find themselves in positions of power. It just gives them license to act like even bigger know-it-all morons and make the lives of others a living hell. I despised both of them during Order of the Phoenix, and that hatred hasn't died.

6. Is the glass half empty or half full? Usually it's half full. I'm a fairly happy person and I try to be as optimistic as possible. Sure, I have 'half empty' days, but over all I like to think it's half full.

7. Give us a quotation (Can be from a famous person, a song, or even a poem-whatever you want) you feel represents your life or personality. "Isn't it a pity that I'm not the prettiest girl in the world, 'cause sometimes I feel when I kick up my heels in the sun I'm the loveliest one" - Melanie Safka (from "Isn't It a Pity")

8. In your life, who comes first: family or friends? Depends on the situation obviously, but in general it would be family. I mean, if a friend is having a major problem, then yes I'd definitely be there for them.. But if we're talking something simple like spending holidays with my family (who live in another city) or spending holidays with my friends (who live here) I'd definitely choose my family. It also helps that I'm married so my 'boyfriend' is now part of my family, and my 'best' friend is my cousin..

9. What is your favorite childhood memory? Christmas Eve with my parents and my brothers. Dinner by candlelight, hot chocolate and treats, singing songs, and just sitting around the table telling stories and laughing.

10. What would you say is your biggest flaw? I don't have much patience for people who make idiotic decisions, and I'm not afraid to speak my mind when someone is being idiotic. Sometimes in being honest I end up hurting people though..

11. If you had been at Hogwarts during Harry’s fifth year, do you think that you would have joined the D.A.? Absolutely. Especially considering my absolute hatred of Umbridge and Fudge.

12. Describe how you react to difficult or stressful situations. I keep my cool on the outside while on the inside I'm an agitated ball of stress (and I keep it bottled up for as long as possible). If it's a difficult situation with a person, I usually end up confronting them (and I've actually made people cry.. wow, that sounds bad). If it's work/school related I just keep it to myself and it ends up affecting me physically (headaches, etc). Then I end up dealing with it through meditation.

13. Which do you value more: compassion or justice? It depends on the individual situation, obviously, but in theory I value compassion. Understanding and compassion are more important than justice. Or at least, those approaches should come first instead of just doling out 'justice' without stopping to understand why things happen.

14. Would you say that you’re a child at heart, or that you have an old soul? Both. I'm a child at heart because I never want to grow up and I have way too many 'toys' (lotr, doctor who, shaun of the dead, hp, and beatles figures, my little ponys, boy bratz dolls, fairies, stuffed animals, etc). But when it comes to my approach to life and my spirituality i'm sort of an old soul. I'm a pagan and I feel a kinship with the earth, etc. also, in my musical tastes i consider myself to be an old soul (like i should've been born a couple decades before my actual birthdate). in some ways i feel like i've been around forever.. so, both? child at heart and old soul?

15. Which Hogwarts House do you think that the Sorting Hat would place you in? As much as I'd like to say Slytherin (because of my love for Snape), probably Gryffindor or Ravenclaw. I'm intelligent but I don't always apply myself (at least in the past I didnt). I'm not afraid to stand up for what I believe in, and I stand by my friends/family regardless of the situation.

16. Do you care which gender you are stamped as (If yes, tell us which gender you would like to be stamped as)? Not really. Maybe a slight bias towards male characters, but it's not that important.

17. Anything else? I'm a huge fan of the Beatles, Hawksley Workman, and Melanie Safka. My favourite TV show is currently Kenny vs Spenny. I'm listening to Cat Stevens as I type this (love him too). If I start reading a book I have a compulsion to finish it, even if I hate it (the only book that has been an exception to that was "Everything Is Illuminated". I really wanted to like that book, but it was like the author was trying too hard to sound intelligent and he just came off as pretentious and boring). Can't think of much else at the moment!

18. If you have a picture of yourself and feel comfortable posting it, please do so! Pictures are fun! Nope, sorry.
