I hope you guys are still doing this! I'd love to be stamped :)
1. Name: Jess
2. Age: 19
3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose?
I love my home country (Australia) dearly, and can't really envisage myself living anywhere else for the rest of my life. However, in saying that I feel like I have a close connection with England, being that the place my dad was born and his side of the family live there. I've visited twice, and I loved it each time. So apart from Australia, definitely England!
4. What would your Room of Requirement look like?
Something to do with the environment. Whether that be a tropical rainforest, or rolling hills, or a waterfall surrounded by Australian sclerophyll forest, it doesn't matter. It just has to be aesthetic, and pure, with beautiful plants and flowers and birds. I don't even think the Room could do something like that but who knows :P (I'm an environmentalist at heart!)
5. Who is your least favorite Harry Potter character?
I've always disliked Bellatrix. The way she gets pleasure out of torturing innocent people makes me sick. And I've hated Umbridge (whom I dub 'Umbitch' XD) ever since I read OOTP. She ruins the whole book for me, basically. She is conniving and sinister, and one of the worst characters to ever grace the pages of Harry Potter, in my opinion.
6. Is the glass half empty or half full?
I've always been more of a pessimist than an optimist, so I would say half-empty. I can be a bit of a realist sometimes, though.
7. Give us a quotation (Can be from a famous person, a song, or even a poem-whatever you want) you feel represents your life or personality.
"A day without laughter is a day wasted" - Charlie Chaplin. I love to laugh, and I've always tried to stay true to this quote :)
I also like this quote: "If I knew the world was going to end tomorrow, I would plant a tree." - attributed to Martin Luther. Simply because it's definitely something I would do! I feel passionate about the environment (as I said above).
8. In your life, who comes first: family or friends?
Family would definitely come first. They mean the world to me. You can pick and choose your friends, but you can't pick your family, and it's the only one you have.
9. What is your favorite childhood memory?
That's a really hard one, because I have many. I am naturally a very nostalgic person. Just some memories are enough to make me tear up! Most of my fond memories involve my sister and I playing games together, and getting into mischief. Once when my dad was working in the front garden there was a huge mound of dirt out the front, and my sister and I climbed right to the top and got very dirty XD My mum probably had a fit, but it was fun at the time :P
10. What would you say is your biggest flaw?
My laziness, and procrastination. It takes me ages to get motivated to do things like my chores at home, or homework XD Once I get started I'm okay, but it's getting there that's a struggle.
11. If you had been at Hogwarts during Harry’s fifth year, do you think that you would have joined the D.A.?
Absolutely! Even though I am normally wary of disobeying rules, I think if I had someone like Umbridge taking over the school my opinion would change. Besides, I wouldn't be the only one, and it would be the perfect chance to brush up on my skills in Defence Against the Dark Arts, as well as make new friends.
12. Describe how you react to difficult or stressful situations.
It takes me a lot to get really stressed out, as I'm a very placid and calm person. I try not to let things get out of hand. But I do recall a time when my final Year 12 exams were coming up and I was so stressed out that my immune system weakened, and I caught a cold! If I'm a bit stressed over my Uni work piling up, I'll whinge about it mostly, and try and deal with the best I can.
13. Which do you value more: compassion or justice?
Again, this is tough. I am a very compassionate and empathetic person, but I also strongly believe in being fair and unbiased. Which one do I value more? I would probably have to say compassion. I care very deeply about others and I don't like seeing any of my family or friends being hurt.
14. Would you say that you’re a child at heart, or that you have an old soul?
Aww, I would say I'm more a child at heart than an old soul. Despite being very serious at times, I'm also very silly and random, and love to laugh. I enjoy revisiting memories of my childhood, whether this is by watching Thomas the Tank Engine, or playing board games. XD
15. Which Hogwarts House do you think that the Sorting Hat would place you in?
Hufflepuff, without a doubt! I feel connected to that house above any other. I think I encompass the qualities of Hufflepuff house, such as being fair, kind, and hard-working. 'Puffs are definitely the underdogs :D
16. Do you care which gender you are stamped as (If yes, tell us which gender you would like to be stamped as)?
I don't mind whatsoever! :)
17. Anything else?
Not particularly. There was nothing about fave characters, so I'll just say that I'm pretty much in love with Neville, and can relate to him a great deal. I also like Hermione, Luna, Remus Lupin and I've always been fond of Harry and Dumbledore.
18. If you have a picture of yourself and feel comfortable posting it, please do so! Pictures are fun!
Me!
