Hi! I'm new. Please stamp me :)
1. Name:
Rachel
2. Age:
16
3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose?
England. Ever since I read the Amber Brown book years and years ago when she goes to London with her dad, I've been completely obsessed. I plan on studying abroad there during college and living there after I finish school. Harry Potter had nothing to do with the start of my love for England, but has definitely fueled it.
4. What would your Room of Requirement look like?
Oh, gosh. Something like how I imagine Hogwarts to be. That is my fantasy home away from home. One room within Hogwarts, I suppose the Gryffindor Common Room. I love its atmosphere created in the books.
5. Who is your least favorite Harry Potter character?
I'm going to answer this as the one I love to hate being my least favorite character. And that would be Wormtail. His cowardice and selfishness destroyed so many lives, including Harry's. I can never forgive him for as good as killing Lily and James himself.
6. Is the glass half empty or half full?
When it all comes down to it, half full. And that's all that matters.
7. Give us a quotation (Can be from a famous person, a song, or even a poem-whatever you want) you feel represents your life or personality.
Wow, can I give more than one? These are more reflective of my personality.
"We've got a problem with no solution but to love and to be loved." Conor Oberst
"I shall never grow up, make believe is much too fun." Eisley
"I walk around the school hallways and look at the people. I look at the teachers and wonder why they're here. If they like their jobs. Or us. And I wonder how smart they were when they were fifteen. Not in a mean way. In a curious way. It's like looking at all the students and wondering who's had their heart broken that day, and how they are able to cope with having three quizzes and a book report due on top of that. Or wondering who did the heart breaking. And wondering why." Charlie; The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
8. In your life, who comes first: family or friends?
My family, but there's a fine line between the two.
9. What is your favorite childhood memory?
Daycare. I know that's vague, but my mom did daycare from before I was born until I started first grade. My favorite memories are from daycare, whether they be playing outside, or "feild trips" to the beach or downtown to see Santa. I met my best friend, Erik, through daycare. A few weeks ago he told me he thought my mom should throw a daycare reunion party because that was his "favorite part of life".
10. What would you say is your biggest flaw?
A year ago I would have said selfish and judgemental. But I've been working so hard to be less of those things and I can tell I'm different. But I still let what other people think stop me from doing what I want and working harder (than I am) for my goals.
11. If you had been at Hogwarts during Harry’s fifth year, do you think that you would have joined the D.A.?
Yes, definitely! I would love to be part of a club like that where you and your peers are working together and helping each other to better yourselves and fight for something you believe in. Also, the sneakyness is kind of alluring, and I probably would have been friends with Harry (or at least had a crush on him) at Hogwarts :)
12. Describe how you react to difficult or stressful situations.
Among my friends, I'm usually the one to take charge and actually do something about it. If it's more of a personal difficult or stressful situation, I pace a lot and imagine every possible scenario of which way things could go based on what actions I may or may not take. I tend to react before I act, but do pretty equal amounts of both in the end. I try and sleep on it sometimes too.
13. Which do you value more: compassion or justice?
Compassion. I find myself empathizing with people a lot, even criminals. That's not to say I don't like to see a little justice served.
14. Would you say that you’re a child at heart, or that you have an old soul?
Child at heart, definitely. I used to wish I could stay young forever, and find (most) little kids and anything associated with little kids endearing.
15. Which Hogwarts House do you think that the Sorting Hat would place you in?
Gryffindor. My mom says I was the hardest of the three of us kids to deal with when I was little because I was so manipulative. I will sometimes do whatever it takes to achieve something, and really see myself with many Slytherin qualities (minus the stereotypical evil). But as Dumbledore once said, "It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities." And I'd choose Gryffindor. My intentions are good and though I may not be very chivalrous, I'm brave and loyal when it comes to those I care about.
16. If you have a picture of yourself and feel comfortable posting it, please do so! Pictures are fun!
I can't get it to work! But here..
