1. Name: Keira
2. Age: Sixteen
3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose?
-- Since I'm applying for an exchange program, I've considered this question pretty seriously. In the end, I'm on the fence between Tokyo, and Paris. Whichever one I choose though (because I will, god help me, end up in one or the other when I get my way) I like the idea of being somewhere exotic, somewhere cutting edge where there's something new to be discovered everyday, plus as someone who grew up in a small community filled with family (who I hate) and people who know me by association, I love the idea of total anonymity.
4. What would your Room of Requirement look like?
-- It would be what I require, and that's money that wouldn't disappear when I left the room. Then with said money, I could buy whatever I wanted. Ha! You have been loopholed, fools.
5. Who is your least favorite Harry Potter character?
Quoted from my
hogwarts_elite application:
...intelligence is something that my favourite characters have, and it's something my least favourite characters seriously lack. Which is why my least favourite character happens to be Hagrid. Hagrid is in serious lack of common sense, basic intelligence, and the art of not being a complete and utter lackwit.
The incident in Prisoner of Azkaban involving Buckbeak, many seem to tag as 'Draco's fault', and they overlook a key fact - Malfoy and company were only thirteen. It doesn't take a whole lot of brains to think: 'Gee, these animals might be too dangerous to entrust with a bunch of KIDS.'. But apparently, Hagrid doesn't have a whole lot of brains. It annoys me to no end that they gave him, and allowed him to keep the job as a teacher of a subject as dangerous as Care of Magical Creatures. First of all, he cannot teach - not only the 'bad guys' think so, even Luna said it. His attitude and actions regarding his job enfuriate me further. I know that whenever I'm given special treatment, or opportunities that I may or may not deserve- I strive to show that I am worth it, and I try and prove myself. It disgusts me to see that Hagrid seems to do just the opposite: Dumbledore hands him this job that he knows he's not deserving of, and he does everything but show himself worthy. And, although I've said it before - I'll say it again: He's stupid.
6. Is the glass half empty or half full?
Back when I was around ten, I prepared what I thought was a witty response to this qusetion. One that pretty sums up my views on the subject; "Half empty...and cracked, while on fire." As you can tell I wasn't a particularly funny child, but lameness aside, it's still honest enough of my view on the world. I wouldn't, however, go as far as to say that I'm a pessimistic bitch. After all, if I thik the outcome will be positive, then that deserves to be said just as much as the negative - unfortunately, that doesn't happen very often. Funnily enough, though, my prediction have a tendancy of being right, so perhaps I'm just more realistic then the rest? Wow. Off track much?
7. Give us a quotation (Can be from a famous person, a song, or even a poem-whatever you want) you feel represents your life or personality.
"I am likely to miss the main event,
If I stop to cry on the plane again.
So I will keep a delibrate pace -
- let the damn breeze dry my face."
-Fiona Apple
8. In your life, who comes first: family or friends?
I won't even pretend to apologise for this when I say that it's my friends. Just because someone is related to you doesn't mean that they should be liked, you have to earn my respect - and most of my family hasn't even accomplished the first part. If I don't even like you, then why should you come first and get treated better? Because two people fucked along the lines sometime, and we were both created as a result? Please. Friends, on the other hand, are picked, respected, and loved. That's why they're friends. If I like you better, I treat you better, simple as that, and like I said earlier - most of my family doesn't make the cut.
(The only exception to this is my mother, but she comes first as a friend - not simply because she's related to me.)
9. What is your favorite childhood memory?
My favourite memory of mine is actually my first memory period, and it's the first time I read a book by myself. The daycare took me on a year early, and then I promptly showed I earned the spot as I curled up in a corner and read a book. It was bright red with ladybug spots on it, and was a whopping three stiff cardboard pages long. :) I always remember how quietly proud of myself I was. It was probably actually the first thing I had learned to do on my own (I hadn't been formally taught, just through the help of my mother reading along with me from as long as I could remember) , and it was all the sweeter because of it. In fact, my mother didn't realise I could read until my P1 teacher told her so - four years later.
10. What would you say is your biggest flaw?
I'm a little fond of myself, and when I say a little it's like saying that MJ is a 'little' fond of the small boys. I like myself, and I refuse to pretend not to. Just like some people have their reasons for rocking back and forth in the bathroom with their My Chemical Romance CD's, I've got good reason to pause and realise that I am awesome. Sure, there's a lot of negative things about me too, but beating yourself up doesn't help anything. At least what i do makes me feel good about myself. Still, that doesn't stop it from being a flaw - it is annoying to other people, and it tends to blind me some from my own problems.
11. If you had been at Hogwarts during Harry’s fifth year, do you think that you would have joine the D.A.?
Maybe, I'm very on the fence about it. If I were to go, it wouldn't be because; "RAR GO DUMBLEDORE BOO VOLDIE", rather, it would be to learn the skills and new spells. Just like if I didn't go, it wouldn't be me taking a stand for the opposite team, nor would it be because I'm afraid of breaking rules. WHen it boils down to it, it comes to whether or not I feel like going to a meeting or if I feel like giving myself extra work. Often, the answer is 'no'.
12. Describe how you react to difficult or stressful situations.
'Red alert, red alert, it's a catastrophe! But don't worry, don't panic! Ain't nothing going on but history, but it's alright, don't panic. " - Basement Jaxx
Perhaps it was because this song first came on, but when it comes to situations like those above then the lyrics above are pretty much how I respond to it. I'm a fairly easy going person, and stressing over situations make things worst rather then better. When it gets really bad? I crawl onto my top bunk to be alone with my sketchbook, feign sickness for a few days, and then get back into life again. It all comes in cycles, and the good things will be back again, thent the bad, then good. It's just life.
13. Which do you value more: compassion or justice?
-- Justice, bceause it's really impossible to be truly compassionate. If you're kind to one side because you feel for them, then you neglect the feeling of another party. Justice, on the other hand, is black and white and far easier when it comes to making decision. You have to do what's best, not what's nice.
14. Would you say that you’re a child at heart, or that you have an old soul?
-- You ask this of a girl who is currently listening to Beauty and the Beast PAH.. Heh, no, seriously it depends on your idea of what's childish and what's more mature. Most of my friend's consider me to be pretty childish since I'm easy going, easily amused, I watch cartoons instead of MTV, and all that good stuff. Then again, to me, they're the one's that are being childish. They choose to get wrapped up in small petty things and he-said she-said fights, rather then looking at the big picture and relaxing a bit. I'm either very young at heart, or else very old. So, that didn't help much.
15. Which Hogwarts House do you think that the Sorting Hat would place you in?
I've always considered myself to be a Slytherclaw, but in the end I realise it's my Slytherin side that wins over all. I might enjoy learning, but unlike what I consider a Claw to be like, I'm not terribly driven to do it. Slytherin for reasons I'd rather not go into listing, but trust me when I say it's no doom and gloom ones.
