do do do do do do do do do do do

1. Name: Kristan. It’s pronounced Kristin, but my decided to spell it with an ‘a’ so that no one in the world could spell or pronounce it correctly. Wonderful, right? Well, it does give me some originality, so that’s good.

2. Age: 16. I’m an April Fool’s child.

3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose? New York City. I live on Long Island and I love going into the city. I like all the commotion, the people, the activity. It makes life interesting. There’s always something to do or to see, and there’s just so much culture and diversity. It’s too plain to have everyone the same. There needs to be originality. Besides, you can’t get good pizza anywhere else but New York.

4. What would your Room of Requirement look like? That’s a good question. What do I require? I would have to say a library - but just of novels/autobiographies/memoirs. I love to read, but I’m not really the kind of person who will pick up a book on the history of New York or on how the orangutans live. I love being absorbed in a good story that can take me away from this world. I’m not saying that this world is bad, but I like the change, to be brought somewhere completely unknown to me. It’s the closest I can get to exploring uncharted lands, and the mystery of it all intrigues me.

5. Who is your least favorite Harry Potter character? Percy Weasley. He completely abandoned his family for the sake of his career, which is not cool. His parents gave him everything that they could and he was still wasn’t satisfied, said it wasn’t enough. He should be grateful for what they gave because they did the best they could. And then when he found out that they were right the whole time about Voldemort, he should have at least had the decency to apologize to them. Oh no, but God forbid Percy Weasley was wrong! The world would end!

6. Is the glass half empty or half full? Half full. You’ve got to see the good in the world otherwise you’ll never be satisfied. Even if you accomplish something absolutely outstanding, if you only look at the bad things, you will not fully appreciate achievement. You’ll never be satisfied with other people or with yourself.

7. Give us a quotation (Can be from a famous person, a song, or even a poem-whatever you want) you feel represents your life or personality. I’ll go with the theme here, and pick a harry potter quote.
“It does not due to dwell on dreams, Harry, and forget to live.”
I fully agree with that. It’s good to have dreams, but you cannot simply dream about them. You have to work for them. You have to strive for them. You have to have the determination and the drive to achieve them. It’s not just going to be handed to you. But also, you can’t forget to notice everything you do along the way. Remember every encounter, even the small things, for they may matter the most.

8. In your life, who comes first: family or friends? Well, I consider my friends to be my family, so I would say family (gotta love loopholes). My family has always been there for me no matter what and they have always loved me, so it would be ungrateful and selfish of me to choose a friend over them. It would be poor repayment for the 16 years I’ve spent with them. I know I can always fall back on my family, they will never abandon me, so why would I abandon them?

9. What is your favorite childhood memory? My favorite childhood memory is the blizzard that hit my area in 1996. It was so great. School was cancelled and snow was everywhere. And there were these bushes on the side of my house that were kind of tall, but they were completely covered. So me and my sister were walking along (“exploring the terrain”) and we didn’t realize that we were walking on the bushes. And I happened to step in a spot where there was no bush and I fell through and got stuck. It was just a lot of fun to be able to climb all the “mountains” and basically slide/fall into the street from the huge mounds of snow on the curb.

10. What would you say is your biggest flaw? I can be amazingly stubborn. If I don’t want to do something, and I have a good reason for it, I will not do it and nothing anyone says can change that. I’ve gotten into trouble a lot for that. One time, I came home at like 3:30 in the morning and my mom was pissed. She yelled, grounded me, and went back to sleep. I was obviously mad so I started playing this keyboard I had, but I put it very, very low (I could barely hear it), but she claimed that it was keeping her awake. So she came out and started yelling some more and grounding some more and I just sat there and kept playing, not paying any attention to her at all because I knew she was only telling me to stop to try and piss me off more. Haha, boy was she pissed.

11. If you had been at Hogwarts during Harry’s fifth year, do you think that you would have joined the D.A.? Hell yeah I would! I’d be one of the first ones to sign up. At a time like that, you have to know how to defend yourself, and if the teacher isn’t doing her job, well, take matters into your own hands. Yeah, you could get into a lot of trouble, but I think the purpose is worth taking that risk. And I’d probably also being doing it out of spite…take that Umbrage. Besides, it would be cool to learn all those spells that would be verryyyyyyy useful.

12. Describe how you react to difficult or stressful situations. I basically just take them as they come. I don’t stress out too much really. Whatever happens, happens. I just don’t dwell on it. Yes, I may be a little shaken at first, but I think the best way to deal is to just keep going on. Don’t stop. Keep moving in your life and eventually you’ll get past it. Even if it takes awhile, you have to keep going, because if you have no drive, no focus, you’ll never get anywhere.

13. Which do you value more: compassion or justice? Oi, that’s a hard one. A really hard one. I’m going to go with justice. Yes, compassion is important, but isn’t that where justice comes from? You feel for the people who have been wronged. And if justice is truly achieved, then the person who was wronged will get compensation for their loss. The problem with only compassion is that you don’t see the whole picture. The person may be suffering, but maybe there was a reason for that, maybe they need it, or maybe they were suffering but it was a justified suffering. In the end, justice is more important.

14. Would you say that you’re a child at heart, or that you have an old soul? I’m definitely a child at heart. I love to have fun and I love all the little simple things in life. All those little things in life added up gives my life meaning. I live to experience new things everyday. You have to give your own life meaning, it’s not going to develop on its own. Like a child, I’m learning knew things, meeting new people, having fun, and seeing the good in the world.

15. Which Hogwarts House do you think that the Sorting Hat would place you in? I would be put in Gryffindor I think. As does everyone I know. Haha. I like to live life. I like to have that bit of adventure. I don’t like plans. My friends call me spontaneous. A lot of times, I don’t think before I act or say something. Although, that probably doesn’t really matter because I will always say what I think. Although sometimes it’s bad because it gets me into trouble.

16. If you have a picture of yourself and feel comfortable posting it, please do so! Pictures are fun! Nope. No picture for you. Come back one year. (anyone who watches seinfeld should get that.) I don’t want my character to be judged on whom I look like. I know which character I look like. I don’t need anyone to tell me that. It should be about who I am. And even if you don’t do it intentionally, it has some influence on a subconscious level.
