1. Name: Metta

2. Age: 23

3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose?
Such a difficult question for me, because there are a million places that I want to live throughout my life, but I'm also really attached to the idea of putting down roots and becoming a big part of a community. I'll leave out that second part in considering my answer though.

I really adore Boston. I lived in Cambridge for a summer and I want to go back and live in that area so badly. It is, in my opinion, the perfect city. It's large and has tons of culture but it isn't nearly as overwhelming as New York. It's got tons of colleges, which can be good or bad, but in the case of Boston, I think it's a good thing, because a lot of the college students stay in the area after graduating, which means that therea are a lot of young intellectuals around. That's just how I feel right at the moment, though. It could change at any time. ;o)
4. What would your Room of Requirement look like?
Well, this is another thing that I think would change all the time. This isn't like the Mirror of Esired, it's a Room of Requirement. Right now, it would have applications for jobs I would be good at and enjoy, and information about volunteering in it. Seriously, that's what I need right now, and despite the wonderful Intrawebs, I cannot seem to find either of those things.
5. Who is your least favorite Harry Potter character?
Gah. I don't know. I hate these questions. Uhm, I suppose Hagrid. He's just so irresponsible and stupid. How many times can he almost get someone killed before realizing his own errors?! I just get really annoyed at people who don't recognize and learn from their mistakes.
6. Is the glass half empty or half full?
Half full. I just for the first time thought about that question literally. If I'm drinking coke, which is my favorite drink ever, I never look at a glass that is half way gone and think, "Oh no, I've already drank half of my coke and now I only have half left." I think, "Look at all the delicious coke I still get to drink."

I'm also a half-full type person in other ways too. I'm generally optimistic and .... I'm sorry, I just got distracted because Evangeline Lilly is in a 'Live Links' commercial... and it looks recent. She must have done it just before Lost starte... *focuses* Ok, uh, yeah. I'm optimistic. I pretty much believe that everything will work out for the best.
7. Give us a quotation (Can be from a famous person, a song, or even a poem-whatever you want) you feel represents your life or personality.
"I don't want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career. I don't want to sell anything bought or processed, or buy anything sold or processed, or process anything sold, bought, or processed, or repair anything sold, bought, or processed. You know, as a career, I don't want to do that. " -Lloyd Dobbler from Say Anything

I just love the sentiment behind this. I don't want to teach kickboxing like Lloyd, but I don't want to be just a stooge. I want to do something interesting that really engages me.
8. In your life, who comes first: family or friends?
It used to be friends, but it is definitely Family today. I've just realized in the past few years how fleeting friendship can be. That doesn't mean that I think all of my friends are going to abandon me, or that I have bad feelings towards friends who I lose touch with. It's just that for me, and I do recognize that this isn't the case for everyone, but I can always count on my family to be there, no matter what. My friends, though I know I can go to them with anything, fall out of contact, and though sometimes when I see them, it's as though no time has past, they don't know the whole story of my life the way my family does.
9. What is your favorite childhood memory?
Gosh. Sledding at my grandparents' house with my brother and all my cousins. Until I was about 16, my grandparents had the most amazing hill behind their house. It was steep and long with woods on either side and at the bottom there was this big clearing. Every year in the winter we would all go visit and we would go sledding together. There are seven of us and every time one of the little kids started sledding alone it was a big deal. I just loved that.
10. What would you say is your biggest flaw?
I don't know, I have so many.... HA. Actually, right now, I think my self-image is my biggest flaw. I used to be a lot thinner and I thought I was a lot prettier and I've gained a lot of weight and I feel kind of crappy about it. I work out a lot, but I eat like a monster, so it's difficult to lose weight when you eat a million calories a day. I know that I'm not really that fat, but I just have this image of myself the way I used to be and I compare myself to that image all the time. Anyway, it kind of bums me out and makes me lazier and want to just lay around and get fatter, which just pisses me off. And I have a big thing about, "If there is something you don't like about yourself, get off your ass and FIX it. Don't just complain and take your frustration out on other people." So, the fact that I am not really living up to that right now is very frustrating. Yes. That's it... That may have been to honest.
11. If you had been at Hogwarts during Harry’s fifth year, do you think that you would have joined the D.A.?
Hmmm. I honestly don't know. I'm always certain that I'm going to get caught when I'm doing something wrong, so it would have been really difficult for me to go along with something that was against the rules. However, in a time of war where people were really scared for their lives and this would have helped me protect myself, I might have gotten over my fear of getting caught. I think I would have done it, now that I think about it. Under different circumstances, no, but considering the stakes, I would have been willing to break the rules.
12. Describe how you react to difficult or stressful situations.
Well, there are two kinds of stressful situations. One is when I'm really busy and trying to do a million things at once. In those situations, I thrive. I 'power through' and get everything done.

However, I'm currently stressed out because I have nothing to do. When I have nothing to do, I tend to kind of shut down. It's no good because I shut down and I don't even go looking for ways to get something to do. I mean, I'm applying to law schools, but other than that I'm not really trying to get out of my rut, even though I hate it... So yeah, that kind of stress is very bad for me.
13. Which do you value more: compassion or justice?
I've gotta say justice. I think compassion is very important, but I get very angry when people aren't held accountable for their actions. You have to take responsibility for yourself. Unfortunately, compassion sometimes leads to people taking advantage, and I really hate that.
14. Would you say that you’re a child at heart, or that you have an old soul?
I don't know. Probably a child at heart. I'm a big goof. I run around saying things like, "Boogity boogity." I call my best friend a monster. I have a baby dinosaur who lives inside me and makes noises when I'm tired or hungry. So yeah. Child at heart.
15. Which Hogwarts House do you think that the Sorting Hat would place you in?
Gryffindor, I think. I've been put in every house in one quiz or another, but I think the Gryff is the most prominent. Uh, I'm brash, blunt. I talk before I think. I am bossy and overbearing. I love to debate and get really passionate about disagreements. I'm loud.
16. If you have a picture of yourself and feel comfortable posting it, please do so! Pictures are fun!
Well, I guess so. If you insist. It's kind of old, I'm a little fatter now. I call it bulking up for winter. ;o)
