1. Name: Sarah
2. Age: 17 this Thursday
3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose?
I kind of want to say London, England, but I've never been there. I think I'm in love with the idea of being there, seeing the sights, the culture, the music, etc., but since I've never been there, it's not really fair because who knows, I might go there and hate it. So I'm going to say New York, which is where I live now. I love the busy city where anything and everything happens, the excitement that surrounds it, the culture, the people, the subways, Central Park, Union Square, and everything about it.
4. What would your Room of Requirement look like?
Isn't Room of Requirements something that shows when you desperately need something? So it isn't really something that would be permanent, right? It's a place that will be different each time to suit your needs. So I don't really see how I can answer this question. But I guess if you're talking about right now, then my Room of Requirement would probably turn into some sort of teacher's lounge where I can find the teachers I've had in the last 3 years [ones I like, mind] so that I can ask them for a damn teacher's evaluation [which I desperately need by Tuesday!].
5. Who is your least favorite Harry Potter character?
I hate Umbridge, but as a character, I find her fascinating. My least favorite would probably have to be umm... perhaps Zacharias Smith. He's annoying, the end.
6. Is the glass half empty or half full?
Most of the time it's half full, but right now it looks half empty. Usually I'm an optimistic person, because I often find that I look back at past situations and no matter how horrible they were, I always see the good stuff rather than the bad.
7. Give us a quotation (Can be from a famous person, a song, or even a poem-whatever you want) you feel represents your life or personality.
Er.. "if you've lost your faith in love and music the end won't be long" - 'Good Old Days' by The Libertines. It goes farther than faith in just love and music though. Everyone needs faith in something.
or, "“It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.” - Albus Dumbledore. Self explainatory, really.
8. In your life, who comes first: family or friends?
My friends are really really really important to me and I love them with all my heart, but if there were two burning houses one with my family in it and one with my friends in it and I could only choose to save one house, I'd have to save my family. I hope I never have to make a decision like this though, because my friends are practically my second family.
9. What is your favorite childhood memory?
Well, this might be too recent to consider a 'childhood memory' but it is a very fond memory I have: last Christmas, like at midnight, my Dad was like "k let's go to Florida!" lol so we all just got into the van and drove two days straight down to Florida and chilled there for a week. It was so random. We spent Christmas in the van, but it was fun.
10. What would you say is your biggest flaw?
I am lazy and I procrastinate. I sometimes don't live up to my abilities. I know I can do better, but I'm always just alright with 'average'. For example, I should've been put in some honors classes but they made a mistake with my schedule, but I never went to fix it because I was lazy and was like "well, I don't need the extra work anyway." I wait til last minute to do an 8 page report [but then again, I work well under pressure and gets it done pretty quickly once I start].
11. If you had been at Hogwarts during Harry’s fifth year, do you think that you would have joined the D.A.?
Definitely. If I wasn't learning anything in Umbridge's class, I'd jump at any chance of doing actual defense against the dark arts material. And D.A.D.A. is my favorite class too, so the D.A. would've been a fun thing anyway. Plus, it would also be nice if I could pass my OWLs.
12. Describe how you react to difficult or stressful situations.
I get overwhelmed by them and then I sit on my ass and dread it. Eventually I'll get up and do something about it, but probably not before ranting to some friends about it first and getting their opinions on the matter.
13. Which do you value more: compassion or justice?
Both are important, but I think compassion. I'm a nice person, and it's easy for me to feel sorry for someone (although one could say mercy would lead to justification, which would make Compassion and Justice not all too different from each other, but anyway). I thought of Barty Crouch sending his son to Azkaban without a second thought, and although he has the absolute right to do that and Crouch Jr. definitely deserved it, I think if I were in Barty Crouch's position, I wouldn't have been that quick to send my only son to Azkaban.
14. Would you say that you’re a child at heart, or that you have an old soul?
I'm the oldest child in the family, so I have a sense of responsibility and I like to plan and organize things, but I think I am a child at heart. I just want to have fun and live life to the fullest. I want to travel and see things, and the littlest things could excite me. I basically squeed out loud before when my dad brought in the Christmas tree.
15. Which Hogwarts House do you think that the Sorting Hat would place you in?
Probably Gryffindor, although I've had a few Hufflepuffs now and again. I'm really opinionated and extremely competitive. I'm also impatient and stubborn. I try to live by my beliefs.
16. If you have a picture of yourself and feel comfortable posting it, please do so! Pictures are fun!
I like eating icies in the tub!
I'm incapable of taking a serious photo, really.
