1. Name: Lindsay, but I don't really like my name. I feel more like a Vivien. It's less commonplace than Lindsay - everyone and their dog is named Lindsay, and I like getting more attention than that.
2. Age: 22, though I hardly act it.
3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose? Edinburgh, Scotland. I visited a few summers ago and fell in love with it. The people, the history, the landscape.. so much better than anything we have in the U.S. Besides, I like a good whisky now and again.
4. What would your Room of Requirement look like? It would depend on my mood. If I was tired, a gigantic purple bed with lots of downy blankets and a warm person to snuggle up with. Angry? A stereo with loud music, a tray of chocolate, and a pack of cigarettes. If I was feeling all right, it would have a Playstation 2, plenty of friends, OR a stack of books and a few candles nearby. Lately, I think it would mostly be the bed. With or without someone to join me!
5. Who is your least favorite Harry Potter character? Remus, actually. I don't hate him or anything, but I don't understand why the fandom is so in love with him. He's less appealing than some of the other Marauders, less interesting, more.. je ne sais pas, standard? But then again, I always get bored with the good boys.
6. Is the glass half empty or half full? Half-empty, but that could be due to the fact that I work in retail in the holiday season, and it's pissing me off and boring me. If I had a better job, where I felt challenged and useful and could USE my degree, I would probably say it was half-full.
7. Give us a quotation (Can be from a famous person, a song, or even a poem-whatever you want) you feel represents your life or personality.
I'm going to cheat and use a few quotes.:
"He who makes a beat of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man." - Dr. Johnson
"Death is the mother of beauty." - Donna Tartt, The Secret History
"I was at the Magic Window for fifteen minutes before a man approached me and said, 'You look so fucking stupid.' I have to admit that he had a point. But still, I wanted to say that at least I get paid to look stupid, that he gives it away for free. But I can't say things like that because I'm supposed to be merry." - David Sedaris, The Santaland Diaries
8. In your life, who comes first: family or friends? Friends, because they always have my back, no matter what. They know what's best for me and when I'm being an idiot. My family, however, always tries to tell me what to do, even when I know it isn't the right decision. They want me to be more like them.
9. What is your favorite childhood memory? Ooh, tough one. I’m going to have to go with: sneaking into abandoned buildings at school to play with the Ouija board. My friends and I used to love doing this, even if we didn’t always believe in it, because it was a rush.
10. What would you say is your biggest flaw? I curse a lot. And I can be a bit tempermental. I get bored easily.
11. If you had been at Hogwarts during Harry’s fifth year, do you think that you would have joined the D.A.? Absolutely, if only to piss off Umbridge. I hate people that try to impose unjust rules just because they can. And I hate people that look like toads most of all.
12. Describe how you react to difficult or stressful situations. It depends. If it's something I can control, I usually try to fix the problems. If it's something I CAN'T control, then I get pissed off and complain about it.
13. Which do you value more: compassion or justice? Compassion. There's always gray area, and justice usually doesn't favor that. "Justice is blind", my ass. It's easier to be compassionate to people than to strictly go by right and wrong, because most of the time, there isn’t a “right or wrong” to it.
14. Would you say that you’re a child at heart, or that you have an old soul? I'm a child heart. I try to be wise and all-knowing, but there's really nothing I like more than running around with my friends and causing a commotion. Life is too short to take yourself too seriously.
15. Which Hogwarts House do you think that the Sorting Hat would place you in? Tough call. Despite being quite different, Slytherin or Gryffindor. I'm brave and daring and mischievous, but I'm also ambitious as all get-out and sneaky when I have to be. I suppose I run into the vein of not-evil Slytherin? Though if there’s not such a thing, Gryffindor would be just fine, too.
16. If you have a picture of yourself and feel comfortable posting it, please do so! Pictures are fun!
I don't have a great picture of me on this computer, but that's me in the icon! With a traditional ancient Greek hairstyle and costume. Well, that's a lie. I'm wearing a sheet, but I could still pass for a Trojan woman if I really, really had to.
