Seriously evil wizard coming through!

1. Name: Kim

2. Age: 20

3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose?
I want to say New Zealand cause those LOTR extended DVDs made it seem so awesome
and beautiful, but really, I can't say for sure, since I've never been there
myself. Out of the places I have been to, I quite enjoyed being on a cruise
ship in the middle of the ocean. I might like working on one. It's nice to be
in your own little world, but not stuck in it, always moving. I didn't get sea
sick, and loved running on the track on the top deck looking out at all that
lovely ocean with the nice breezes and...::sigh:: why must it be freezing here?

4. What would your Room of Requirement look like?
It would be kind of like that wonderful prefect's bathroom with the big bath,
except it would also have a nice library and music selection to go with it as
well. And no Moaning Myrtle, of course. No anyone, actually, it would ensure
perfect privacy as that's something I never seem to get no matter how I try,
what with living in a suite at college and having parents who work from home at
home. And a brother who never leaves...

5. Who is your least favorite Harry Potter character?
Fleur. I hated her before, and still hate her even after that absurdly sappy
moment with Bill that made everybody else love her. Loved the nickname, though.
I'm really not a fan of Slughorn, either. I know he's supposed one of those
"not-so-bad, see?!" Slytherins, but I'll take the bad guys over him. I never
liked teachers who try to befriend all their students as there always seem to be
something inherently creepy about it. I much prefer professors like McGonagall,
who are willing to help you out if you ask (ex: Hermione with the time-turner),
but who respect boundaries and are focused more on their job and the material
than interpersonal relations.

6. Is the glass half empty or half full?
Half-empty. I am pretty pessimistic, even morbid at times, but it's never
enough to be free of disappointment. My pessimistic view on pessimism is that
it never will be enough for such freedom. ;p

7. Give us a quotation (Can be from a famous person, a song, or even a
poem-whatever you want) you feel represents your life or personality.
Okay, let's see:
Most of my favorite quotes are absurd and say nothing about me except the fact that I enjoy being amused, but here are a few that may say a little:
"If you never try anything new, you'll miss out on many of life's greatest disappointments"--this is my dad's email signature, lol.
(paraphrasing)"There comes a point where any reasonable man will swallow his pride and admit he's made a terrible mistake...truth is, I was never a reasonable man."-Big Fish
"I have great faith in fools; self-confidence, my friends call it."-Edgar Allen Poe
And many more not currently on my mind, I'm sure...

8. In your life, who comes first: family or friends?
I guess I'm going to say family, but only because they have to. I'm still
young, they pay for my college, they provide for me, I'm obviously far more
obligated to appease my parents than I am to my friends. However, my friends
are very important to me as well, and not only because I am in awe of their
ability to be friends with such an annoying individual as myself. You choose
your friends, which really makes things a whole lot different than with family. Plus, they tend to be your own age and relate better because of this.

9. What is your favorite childhood memory?
Winning the spelling bee in fifth grade. I hadn't studied, practiced anything,
mainly because I had dislocated my knee a week before and was all busy being in
pain and lugging myself around with this giant ugly splint on my leg. But then
it all came so easily. I was amazed, giddy, even, with my ability. And it was
about time someone else saw something good in me, because I was tired of being
the big loser I was. I mean, I got good grades in every subject, but had no
friends, everybody made fun of me, woe is me, etc., and here was my chance to be recognized
for something good by something other than a number on a paper that nobody saw
except me, my mom, and a teacher. After this, I started acting, singing, doing
all sorts of stuff I had previously been too shy to do.

10. What would you say is your biggest flaw?
Toss up between nosiness, bossiness, and general paranoia/anxiety. I'm very
flawed, but aren't we all? :) Let me elaborate on each one: Nosiness--let's
just say that sometimes being too curious has led to me finding some things out
that I'd be a lot happier never having known, but I am incapable of controlling
myself in this regard a lot of the time. Bossiness--I don't think this is that
bad a flaw, but other people I know have, heh. I'm a little bit of a control
freak. Paranoia/anxiety- This is a pretty bad flaw, for me, for everyone
I know, etc. I have a lot of weird little phobias and "trust issues".

11. If you had been at Hogwarts during Harry’s fifth year, do you think that
you would have joined the D.A.?
I would like to say yes, but only if I had heard about it, which, well, who
knows? I would most likely be annoyed at the terrible teaching going on by
Umbridge and worried about failing my OWLs or NEWTs, and figure someone who
faced Voldemort would be a pretty good teacher. And yes, part of me would just
be excited to be all secretly rebelling.

12. Describe how you react to difficult or stressful situations.
There are a variety of reactions depending on the specific situation. If I'm
stressed about something like schoolwork, for example, it's not going to affect
me too greatly because I have a lot of faith in myself in that area. You know,
if I have a lot of work piling up or something, I'll just do it with the help of
my good friend caffeine, and it's all good. However, if you're talking about
relationship breakups, I don't take those well, especially when nobody explains
to you why it's happening. Social problems usually result with me getting angry or disappointed, and locking myself in my room, heh. Those are just two examples as obviously there are
lot more difficult and stressful situations we all face on a daily basis, but
hopefully that will suffice.

13. Which do you value more: compassion or justice?
Justice. My friend and I actually made a film called "Justice", but that's
irrelevant. It's not that I have a problem with compassion. I'm perfectly
capable of being compassionate...I just don't think most people deserve it and
save it for people I think do. Wow, that sounds completely awful, I know, but
really, are people who are compassionate toward every person they meet ever
sincere? I am not saying I know, but I doubt it. A lot of people can go ahead and say compassion here, but when someone they love or they themselves have been wronged, I wouldn't be surprised if they changed their mind.

14. Would you say that you’re a child at heart, or that you have an old
soul?
Both. Really. Some days I'm all jokes, laughter, general absurdity, and some
days I'm all cynical, morbid, and depressed. I'd say I'm more of a child,
though, because even in my worst moods, there is this sense of
confusion about myself, where I'm going, what I should do, why, why, why, etc.
I have the Hamlet syndrome. Though, maybe that's more of an "old" quality, since five year-olds rarely think like that. But adolescents do, so...basically I'm a teenager at heart, I suppose.

15. Which Hogwarts House do you think that the Sorting Hat would place you
in?
Well, I used to be a Gryffindor over at hogwarts_elite some time
ago, but lately I feel much more like a Ravenclaw. That's not to say that I
don't have any "passion" or the ability to stand up for myself, because I most
certainly do- it's just that I have a lot more curiosity, just a general desire
to know things for the sake of knowing them (my friends make fun of me all the
time for how annoying it is with me always asking questions about everything ;p),
and I'm not really sure if I am even capable of being as idealistic as most of
the Gryffindors in the books seem to be.

16. If you have a picture of yourself and feel comfortable posting it, please
do so! Pictures are fun!
Fine, but I feel so plain next to all the lovely people in this community,
seriously, looking through these entries, you guys are gorgeous!

Thanks for voting. :)
