1. Name: K.D.
2. Age: 20, shall be 21 in February.
3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose? I'd want to live somewhere by the sea. And not your tropical sea, with the white sand and clear water. I want rocky cliffs (okay, those are optional), and dark sand, and grey water. Cloudy days off the New England coast are just beautiful. I think I'd choose any place like that, as long as it's not crowded and touristy.
4. What would your Room of Requirement look like? ... Honestly, I'm a little freaked by the Room of Requirement, but, if I really needed a room for whatever I required, it would probably have an enormous bed. Not for sex! No, really. One of the best things in the world is to be curled up in bed, burrowed, with lots of blankets and pillows. Since it's Hogwarts, I'd need to have this room, as living in a room with three or more people is a little daunting. I need my privacy, my quiet time. I think the room would also have a window, with morning sunlight coming in through curtains. I like being curled up in bed in the morning (especially a snowy morning) better than anything. I ... require that. :) There would also be lots of books, and plenty of parchment, quills, and ink, for whenever I decided to get out of bed and either read something or be productive, even if it's just doodling my name.
5. Who is your least favorite Harry Potter character? You know, this was a really, really difficult question, because ... if I hate a character that's supposed to be hated, I feel like I've not answered the question correctly. So I think I finally decided on the fact that I really don't like Peeves, because he's loud, obnoxious, and always coming in at the worst moments. And while that may be a clever plot device, I just roll my eyes whenever he comes in.
6. Is the glass half empty or half full? It depends on my day, doesn't it? Most of the time, I think, I'd consider it half empty. Not because I'm a pessimist, necessarily, but because ... if taken literally ... Let's say I'm drinking a glass of milk, yes? (I love milk. Anyway.) Let's say I'm drinking this milk, and I have some cookies. I will always invariably refill the glass when it's around half empty, rather than waiting for it to be fully empty. So! To take that and put it into reality, and I really do think this is true... while yes, I consider it half empty, I always make an effort to make my glass fully full before it gets fully empty, so it being half empty is a reminder to be full! ... If that makes sense. :)
7. Give us a quotation (Can be from a famous person, a song, or even a poem-whatever you want) you feel represents your life or personality. Buh. Uhm. From The Lord of the Rings.
In Western lands beneath the sun
The flowers may rise in Spring,
The trees may bud, the waters run,
The merry finches sing.
Or there may be this cloudless night
And swaying beeches bear
The Elven stars as jewels white
Amid their branching hair.
Though here at journey's end I lie
In darkness buried deep,
Beyond all towers strong and high,
Beyond all mountains steep,
Above all shadows rides the Sun
And Stars for ever dwell.
I will not say the Day is done,
Nor bid the Stars farewell.
8. In your life, who comes first: family or friends? That's not really a fair question for me. I have an exceedingly small family, and so my friends really have become my family. If you're really close to me, I consider you family, whereas acquaintances are more friends. And so ... family comes first, but that's "family" in a different sense of the word. It's not literal, but I believe that a family is something that you can make as well as simply be born with.
9. What is your favorite childhood memory? I don't have one. Seriously. It's not because I had a bad childhood, but I'm gawking at this question, surprised that I don't have anything to say. I could lie, and tell you stories of sledding and playing in the snow ---- all good memories, but ... I dunno. I don't have one SPECIFIC memory. But I think... my grandfather? He died when I was thirteen, and he was my favorite person in the world. He had a house on Cape Cod, which .. I think that's why I would live by a stormy northern sea if I had my choice to live anywhere. He used to take me to Friendly's (a restaurant on the east coast) and steal my french fries after making me look elsewhere. Shortly after my grandfather died, a friend went to Friendly's with me and tried that, and I burst into tears. he didn't know what to do with me. XD
10. What would you say is your biggest flaw? Umm. I'm a bit of a pushover, I think, at times. I think things but I don't say them, because I'm afraid of pissing people off. I want people to like me, and I don't want to spark arguments ---- not only because I don't want to hurt people's feelings, but because I don't want opinions of me to change. It means I probably can get pushed around very easily.
11. If you had been at Hogwarts during Harry’s fifth year, do you think that you would have joined the D.A.? I think I would have, sure. I was going to say no, because I didn't want to say YES because it seems overly noble. But, if I were approached, and I believed in the cause----and in this case, I do, I'd be more than willing to kick some butt. I'm tough. Rrr.
12. Describe how you react to difficult or stressful situations. I tend to make mountains out of molehills. I FREAK OUT, and it consumes my life, and I whine and procrastinate and gradually finish the job... and then I realise that there was no need to do that. So I think when I'm older I'll calm down, but right now, this is my preferred method to deal with things because it makes me feel so good when I'm done, realising it really wasn't so bad.
13. Which do you value more: compassion or justice? That's another difficult question. "Compassion" seems like the right answer, doesn't it? I value compassion very highly, but justice is equally important. I believe justice ought to be tempered with compassion, and compassion with justice. Compassion may work on a personal level, but justice is necessary for the world to function.
14. Would you say that you’re a child at heart, or that you have an old soul? I'm a child at heart ... for the most part. I'm the kind of girl that can be amused for hours by a piece of string, and I'm constantly playing make believe.
15. Which Hogwarts House do you think that the Sorting Hat would place you in? It's a tossup between Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. I'm smart, but I'm not totally focused on my studies. At all. I'd like to think I'm loyal and hardworking----well, hardworking, except when it comes to schoolwork that I don't care about. If I care about the assignment, I will REALLY work on it, but if I don't, and I don't feel it will better my existence, I really don't bother with it. However, despite the tossup, I place myself in Hufflepuff.
16. If you have a picture of yourself and feel comfortable posting it, please do so! Pictures are fun!
