1. Name: Alison.
2. Age: 18. Nineteen, practically.
3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose? If I could choose anywhere in the world, it would be in England-likely at Cambridge or Oxford, but I'm not picky, and I would like to be studying and researching. Keep in mind that I would prefer this location because it is most preferable for my area of research. It's rather difficult to go exploring castles while being a professor (which, since I did not mention it yet, is what I would be doing if I were there) at one of these universities. On the side, I would like to write here, and I think that this would be a good setting for most of my stories.
4. What would your Room of Requirement look like? My room of requirement is a room full of every book ever made. Even pornographic books-as long as I could gain knowledge from them to further me in life. The walls would be covered with books, but somehow, the room wouldn't have the musty book smell (since that's bothersome). In the center would be a desk and candles with wax that would never burn out (since candlelight is easier on my eyes than bright light), along with a laptop (so I could relate my teachings to the world) and a comfortable bed when my brain feels a bit overcooked.
5. Who is your least favorite Harry Potter character? Following Goblet of Fire, I'm of the opinion that Peter Pettigrew isn't a very worthwhile individual. He may be powerful and may have even been manipulative to some degree, but he's so insipid that he doesn't know what he's doing half the time. In fact, him killing the Potters was dumb luck. The fact that someone can grovel to someone superior to him so openly-no individual should willingly do that.
6. Is the glass half empty or half full? The glass is half-empty. The moment that a life reaches fulfillment and someone has self-actualization, they can have a glass half-full, but that never happens (especially when crap happens, more often than not). Also, a person should strive to reach the half-full state, but it rarely happens.
7. Give us a quotation (Can be from a famous person, a song, or even a poem-whatever you want) you feel represents your life or personality.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I feel my fate in what I cannot fear.
I learn by going where I have to go.
We think by feeling. What is there to know?
I hear my being dance from ear to ear.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
Of those so close beside me, which are you?
God bless the Ground! I shall walk softly there,
And learn by going where I have to go.
Light takes the Tree; but who can tell us how?
The lowly worm climbs up a winding stair;
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
Great Nature has another thing to do
To you and me, so take the lively air,
And, lovely, learn by going where to go.
This shaking keeps me steady. I should know.
What falls away is always. And is near.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I learn by going where I have to go.
"The Waking" by Theodore Roethke
8. In your life, who comes first: family or friends? Friends. My family hasn't always been completely there for me, whereas I've always been able to count on my friends. However, this is tricky because my friends become my family, and therefore, I count on my friends/family more than my family/family, if that makes any sense.
9. What is your favorite childhood memory? My favorite childhood memory has to be when I was seven and I was waiting for my parents to get married and I farted. I know, I know, it's completely immature, but making the Justice of the Peace walk out of the room while we were laughing. It was a very simple moment in my life.
10. What would you say is your biggest flaw? On one half, I'm headstrong and bossy, but on the other, I'm passive-aggressive. It's very weird, because I let people push me over so I can bitch about them, instead of actively doing something about it. At the same time, though, I'm not quiet about my opinions and I don't think twice about them.
11. If you had been at Hogwarts during Harry’s fifth year, do you think that you would have joined the D.A.? No. I like doing the right thing, but I also like my neck. If my friends had done it, maybe, but I don't think so. I don't follow the leader very well.
12. Describe how you react to difficult or stressful situations. I become very stiff and I try to become cold. I try to remain completely okay throughout all of it until I reach a breaking point, but this happens at the last possible moment. I even go to the point of trying to draw out negative emotions in friends in order to further myself.
13. Which do you value more: compassion or justice? Justice. People need to receive what's coming to them.
14. Would you say that you’re a child at heart, or that you have an old soul? I have an old soul. I've always been the person striving to be horribly mature, and probably failing, but I always need to have some kind of person go, "Why don't you have some fun?" My entire life is planned out, and I feel like I've been an adult too long to really have it set in that one year ago, I turned eighteen and officially became an adult.
15. Which Hogwarts House do you think that the Sorting Hat would place you in? Ravenclaw or Slytherin.
16. If you have a picture of yourself and feel comfortable posting it, please do so! Pictures are fun! Hahaha, I'll insert one another time.
