1. Name: AJ (Though really it's Anna, I'm just falling out of love with my name) [AJ stands for AnnaJack, myself and my other self all smushed together like something stupid]
2. Age: 18

3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose?
A year ago I would have said 'Japan' with no other thought. I suppose I was a bit of a Japanophile and fallen in love with the pretties and the animes. Today? I think northern France. Preferably the small town of Gravelines. It's about 40 minutes from Dunkirk, and you can walk around the entire town in half a day. The pace is slow, the people are kind, if I want to go to England it is close and the food is good. It isn't too packed or busy, too smoggy and it is definitely cute and quaint. People would know me without my having to do something extrodinary.

4. What would your Room of Requirement look like?
My friend stayed at a hotel where the entire lobby was a gigantic koi pond. I'd like half of the room to be like that, artful and I could watch the fishies. There would have to be plenty of books, notebooks, pens and a huge window. I like to write in the sun and watch fish, what does that say about me?

5. Who is your least favorite Harry Potter character?
On my sorting_elite app I said Harry. I still dislike him, but after resolving my capslock!Harry issues I think I have to move on to a better target. The Dursleys. I'm lumping them all together because they haven't the wit or heart of one person, let alone three. Ok, that was a bit extreme (but I liked the way it sounded in my head).

They're stupid and ignorant. I suppose I could go on and on about why I don't like them, but I don't want to expend the effort on their behalf.

6. Is the glass half empty or half full?
It was half-full and then I realized it was and now it's empty :p.

Ok, really? I'm The Eternal Optimist. At times I bitch and complain and can be a cynic when I feel like it, but I live by 'there is always tomorrow'. The sun will always rise, and if it doesn't we're all shot to hell anyway, so what's the point? I believe that the glass might be half-empty, but we can always fill it up again.

7. Give us a quotation (Can be from a famous person, a song, or even a poem-whatever you want) you feel represents your life or personality.
"There's the family we're given, and the family we choose."
(Not the exact quote, since I can't find it, but close enough)
-Jilly Coppercorn
(Charles de Lint character)

I live by that quote. It isn't that I'm not particularly fond of the family I'm given, but there's always a choice. There's always something better I can wrap my hands around if I want to.

8. In your life, who comes first: family or friends?
Friendship, hands down.

What use is blood if there is no other ties? Love isn’t shared blood, it’s shared identity and is built on friendship. I’ve never seen the importance in blood. Parents beat their children, children kill their relatives… admittedly, so do friends, but how is blood any more special than friendship? A true friend will be there for you, even when your family turns on you.

I feel I have to put this out here, I’m adopted. I have no blood ties to my family, any of them. What makes them my family isn’t paperwork and it isn’t the fact that mum and da decided to go screw for a while. They’re family because we’re friends first, we trust, we love and we learn to live together.

There’s the family you’re given and the family you choose.
I think the family you choose is far more important.

9. What is your favorite childhood memory?
Don't judge me on this...but I used to take off all my clothes and run around the table at my grandparents house. I don't know why I ever thought of it, but when I was really little it was a sort of ritual for me. Then my mum would chase after and my grandfather would laugh and then Happy Hour would happen and I'd pluck the cherries out of their Manhattans. That was just how it was and it was perfect.

10. What would you say is your biggest flaw?
Fear. Everything I do is because of fear. Or at least, a large part of it. I am a good student because I'm terrified of not living up to expectations. I put on a social mask because I'm terrified of rejection. I strive to be orderly, creative and hard working because my brother is not. I would rather people think me stupid, than accuse me of being pedantic or expect me to be smart. I try to seem silly so that they won't hate me for my serious edge.

11. If you had been at Hogwarts during Harry’s fifth year, do you think that you would have joined the D.A.?
Not alone. If a friend had joined, then probably. I don't like to stick out more than I have to, and I don't know if the D.A. would have been what I saw as my best option. However, if a friend (and I'm only friends with those I trust, at least moderately so) then probably. If they saw it fit then that counts as a pro towards it and I'd reconsider. Plus, I hate doing things alone.

12. Describe how you react to difficult or stressful situations.
If it's painful and stressful I laugh. I laugh and everything is happy and I shoulder through. If it is like school or job stress I usually take a day where I binge on food, watch ER and write em0 fanfiction about my favorite characters slaughtering innocent puppies or something. Difficult like a test? I ask my friends to help me study and then mooch off of their superior intellect. If it is sad and stressful I try to just move on.

13. Which do you value more: compassion or justice?
Compassion. I don't believe in their being a 'true justice' or even a 'true truth'. There are always too sides to a coin, and compassion let's us see both. I think overly compassionate people are lacking in compassion for logic and therefore should not be counted. It's easy enough to tell someone they've done wrong, I think it's harder to hold out a hand and help them off their ass.

14. Would you say that you’re a child at heart, or that you have an old soul?
Can I be an old child at heart? I guess a child. I'm hopeful, which must make me a child. I look to the future, so in that respect I would be a child as well. I see old souls as looking back more, and as children as looking forward.

15. Which Hogwarts House do you think that the Sorting Hat would place you in?
Hufflepuff, hands down. I'm a Huff at hogwarts_elite. I am a Claw at Hogwarts_rising, I was a Slyth at hogwartsishome and lumos_sorting. I am a Slytherpuff at 4husorting and a Ravenpuff at pillarsfour. So I'm a bit all over the place, all I know is that I'm not a Gryffindor. Though I think my Claw and Slyth sides are side effects of my Hufflepuff core.

16. If you have a picture of yourself and feel comfortable posting it, please do so! Pictures are fun!
Ew. No. I'm UGLY and would BREAK your computer screen.
