1. Name:
Kasey :) But usually people just call me Kase...
2. Age:
I'm 21 years, six months and two days old...
3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose?
Well, I'm a True-Blue Aussie, born and bred, and to be honest, I wouldn't give that up for the world. Although I wouldn't mind seeing the sights of the world, I could never ever leave Australia for good. I love the everything about it. The people, the weather, the culture, the lifestyle. I doubt I'd honestly fit in anywhere else in the world.
I feel such an affinity with Australians. I travelled through Europe when I was a teenager and I can honestly say that even though I enjoyed it, I'd was so relieved to set foot back in Australia and see the sunburnt plains, hear the nasal accents and generally drink in the atmosphere. It's home, pure and simple. I don't belong anywhere else.
4. What would your Room of Requirement look like?
Well, I'd say it would all depend on what I required, wouldn't it? Hehe. Most of the time, I'd say it would be a private sanctuary, a place where I could escape from the rough-and-tumble of everyday life. A fully stocked snacks & drinks fridge, a library full of books (particularly fantasy or biographies), and the worlds biggest CD collection, so I could just putter around in my own company and indulge in some free time (something I'm sorely lacking, being a full time student and working two jobs).
5. Who is your least favorite Harry Potter character?
Least favourite? Urgh, Peter Pettigrew. He makes my blood boil! My favourite part of the entire series is the Marauder sub-plot and what Peter did... Ack. Unforgivable. He tore that group of friends apart... He destroyed lives and he caused so much pain to so many people.
It's one thing to be a follower of the Dark Lord, it's an entirely different thing to sell out your friends; to be responsible for the murder of two of your best friends; the incarceration of another; the miserable childhood experienced by Harry and god, what Remus and Sirius must have gone through, suspecting one another, and Remus actually believing such a grevious ill of Sirius for 12 years - disgusting. Not to mention the pain experienced by the rest of the OotP at large. How can Pettigrew live with himself?
He's not even the character I love to hate! I just hate him!
6. Is the glass half empty or half full?
Half full. I'm an optomist by nature. Live life to the fullest, be grateful for what you have rather than being resentful of what you don't have... all that jazz! I won't bore you with it!
7. Give us a quotation (Can be from a famous person, a song, or even a poem-whatever you want) you feel represents your life or personality.
"I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees" - Midnight Oil (An Aussie band, for those of you who don't know)
I guess it represents my personality perfectly - I'm a very passionate, even stubborn, person. While I don't mind compromising, I can only bend so far, and I'll rarely lose faith in my opinions and ideals.
8. In your life, who comes first: family or friends?
Family, without a doubt. Although, I treat my friends like family, if it came down to saving my brother or saving my best friend, I'd choose my brother. My brother and I have been through so much together, and we're so in tune with one another, I couldn't bear to lose him. He's like, the other half of me. We're not twins (I'm 2 years older), but we may as well be. He and my parents come first, no matter what, and if my friends don't understand that, well... they're not much of a friend, are they?
9. What is your favorite childhood memory?
Gosh, there's so many to choose from. But the majority of them revolve around Christmas times spent with the family - just happy, warm, family times, nothing specific.
10. What would you say is your biggest flaw?
I'm much harder on myself and expect much more of myself than anyone else does. I'm my own worst critic and worst nightmare, and sometimes it can get quite nasty and uncomfortable in my brain, as I don't forgive myself very easily.
It's weird. I can forgive someone for something, but if I do it, I can't forgive myself. No way. I'm suddenly the worst person in the world. It's not very nice, but I guess it's always good to have high standards for yourself.
11. If you had been at Hogwarts during Harry’s fifth year, do you think that you would have joined the D.A.?
Without a doubt. The Wizarding World is on the brink of war and I don't know how to defend myself? No thanks! I don't care what Umbridge's stupid Ministerial Decree states, I wouldn't be compromising my safety for it!
12. Describe how you react to difficult or stressful situations.
I push myself harder and always have faith that I'll make it through. You have to be calm in these situations - panicking or becoming upset isn't going to help the situation at all, is it?
13. Which do you value more: compassion or justice?
Ouch, that's tough, but I'll go with justice. I've always been about being fair and just and ensuring people get what they deserve, be it good or bad. There's a good quote to back this up, from Muriel's Wedding - "You reap what you sow"... I'm a big believer in people standing up and taking responsibility for their actions...
14. Would you say that you’re a child at heart, or that you have an old soul?
I'm definitely an old soul, and I always have been. I've always been very responsible and mature for my age and although I connect well with people of all ages, some of my very best friends in the world are older than me, and I feel more comfortable with that. Plus, I'm a "Mother Hen" type, always fussing about my friends and their health and safety and general well being... I don't think I'd do that if I was truly a child at heart.
15. Which Hogwarts House do you think that the Sorting Hat would place you in?
Although it'd have a tough time choosing between Ravenclaw and Gryffindor, I think it would definitely end up choosing Gryffindor. While I'm motivated to achieve high levels of academic excellence, I'm a bit of a cause-fighter. As I stated before, I'm a very passionate person, which leads me to be quite bold and daring when I want to be.
16. If you have a picture of yourself and feel comfortable posting it, please do so! Pictures are fun!
Okay, well, here's me!
