1. Name: Betsy
2. Age: 17! Soon to be 18.
3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose? I'd stick to New York, but I'd like a heavy dose of money so I can travel anywhere I want. My top choice would be Italy. I really want to become fluent in Italian, and living there would improve the way I currently speak it (read: terrible).
4. What would your Room of Requirement look like? My Room would be very cozy, first and foremost. I hate those cold, high-class rooms with plastic-covered furniture people are afraid to sit on. There would be a lot of space in my Room, with a sizable chunk of it for my art supplies and book collection. Finished and unfinished paintings would be everywhere. My couch would be firm, but a little bit squishy. I like napping on my couches.
5. Who is your least favorite Harry Potter character? My least favorite character is Ginny, I suppose. I disliked her on site. There's not much of an explanation, really.
6. Is the glass half empty or half full? The glass is half full. I usually think positively, and am cynical only during my more depressive and political moods.
7. Give us a quotation (Can be from a famous person, a song, or even a poem-whatever you want) you feel represents your life or personality.
"Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum".
("If you want peace, prepare for war")
- Flavius Vegetius Renatus. Roman Military strategist. c. 390. A.D
I believe that it's naïve to assume for peace, so I prepare myself for trouble.
I'm paranoid. I numbered the rooms in my apartment according to the scenario of someone trying to rob my family. The first room would be the easiest to escape from, and this is determined by the availability of fire escapes, phone lines, the internet, and lockable doors.
8. In your life, who comes first: family or friends? Family comes first, though the members that are bastards don't get so much as a "hola" from me. My immediate family will forever have a special place in my heart.
9. What is your favorite childhood memory? My favorite childhood memory goes back to when I finally learned how to tie my shoelaces. It was naptime in kindergarten, and I was sitting in my Barbie mat. I was really proud of myself for tying them without anybody's help.
10. What would you say is your biggest flaw? I'm too ambitious. For example, for the second painting assignment I ever had, I bought myself a huge canvas and planned out an elaborate scene for my painted self. Unfortunetly, my dreams of having the best painting in the class didn't work out as planned. It's unfinished and currently gathering dust somewhere in my closet.
11. If you had been at Hogwarts during Harry’s fifth year, do you think that you would have joined the D.A.? It depends on whether I was close to Harry or not. I immediately dislike students who are more powerful in the school because I'm - I admit it - jealous of them. I wouldn't have given Harry any more influence by joining. I would have studied the spells on my own.
12. Describe how you react to difficult or stressful situations. I go crazy for a while, but then become eerily quiet while I plan out what to do. For example, I cried when I didn't get AP Government, but by that evening I planned to drop AP Italian so I could get both (in the end I managed to study the latter on my own, and still get credit for it). I believe that there's an answer to everything, even if a little sacrifice is required.
13. Which do you value more: compassion or justice? I value justice more. I relate it a lot to revenge. That famous eye quote of Ghandi makes me cringe in disagreement and disgust.
14. Would you say that you’re a child at heart, or that you have an old soul? I'm a child at heart. I'm very idealistic and love fantasy. I've also been told that I am easily amused. My favorite pair of words, by the way, are "tissue's issues." I can't stop laughing whenever someone says it after I tell them to (which is the only way they'll ever get said).
15. Which Hogwarts House do you think that the Sorting Hat would place you in? I wouldn't be surprised if I were sorted into cool Ravenclaw. But beware! I'm compared a lot to Hermione, and she obviously proves that not all bookworms are Ravenclaws.
16. If you have a picture of yourself and feel comfortable posting it, please do so! Pictures are fun! HM, I pass.
