1. Name: Em.

2. Age: Nineteen.

3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose?
I'm afraid I'm quite vain about where I live - I can't imagine wanting to live anywhere else other than London. The transport is terrible, as is the way in which the city is maintained, but I love the beautiful architecture and its long history of being a cultural hotspot. I like to be able to walk down the streets and imagine the people in the past who walked there as well.

4. What would your Room of Requirement look like?
There would be loads of squashy cushions scattered all over the floor to lounge about on, and it would be filled with pens and enormous - really enormous; several feet long if possible - notebooks to doodle and write in. I like to be able to sprawl over everything.

5. Who is your least favorite Harry Potter character?
I don't really hate any of the characters, but I'm not a big fan of Hermione. I dislike her attitude to situations - she seems to be under the impression that the ends justify the means, and that's not a position I can readily sympathise with. I do appreciate her as a member of the Trio, but on her own I just can't reconcile my problems with her.

6. Is the glass half empty or half full?
Half-full, always. I'm almost pathetically optimistic, tomorrow is another day, etc. I do believe, though, that optimism isn't akin to stupidity - while it would be optimistic to say, "If I study hard, I can pass this exam," it would be stupid to say, "I won't study hard but I hope I'll pass anyway." Basically, I think that if optimism is combined with common sense, you'll never be unhappy.

7. Give us a quotation (Can be from a famous person, a song, or even a poem-whatever you want) you feel represents your life or personality.
I believe in Karma: what you give is what you get returned,
I believe you can't appreciate real love until you've been burned,
I believe the grass is no more greener on the other side,
I believe you don't know what you've got until you say goodbye.

It's from Affirmation by Savage Garden. Yeah, I know, it's terribly cheesy - but those sentiments, along with the rest of the song, are all about being nice to people and, uh, that's pretty much my life philosophy.

8. In your life, who comes first: family or friends?
For me, personally...probably my friends, although having said that, my mum is pretty much my best friend. Other than her, though, I'm closer to my friends than the rest of my family.

9. What is your favorite childhood memory?
Probably playing on the field at school when I was eight or nine. It was summer and warm and I remember that we all snuck into the trees nearby to collect bits of fallen bark to play with. I suppose it's not a single memory as such - it's more of a general idea of what it felt like to be young, but those were some beautiful days.

10. What would you say is your biggest flaw?
I think possibly my worst flaw is that because I'm so optimistic and so idealistic, I tend to be rather unsympathetic towards other peoples' problems. I feel bad about it - but when someone is complaining about what a hard day they've had, I can't help but want to berate them on how much worse they could have it.

11. If you had been at Hogwarts during Harry’s fifth year, do you think that you would have joined the D.A.?
Maybe. I wouldn't mind if I was going on my own, but I'm dreadfully inconsistent when it comes to showing up to regular club meetings of any sort. I suspect I'd have joined if it sounded interesting enough, skipped a few meetings and shown up on the last week of term wondering who everyone was and how the hell they all managed to learn to cast Patronuses.

12. Describe how you react to difficult or stressful situations.
I blow them massively out of proportion and break down crying for five minutes. Then, about ten minutes after I've received the information, I'm absolutely fine and am able to look on the bright side of things.

13. Which do you value more: compassion or justice?
Compassion. I'm going to be really dorky and quote Shakespeare - "The rarer action is in virtue than in vengeance." While obviously (obviously!) justice is important, I don't think that there is any greater human action than the act of mercy. (I suspect I would be ridiculously thrilled if the seventh book ended with Harry and Tom Riddle hugging and deciding to team up to fight crime or something.)

14. Would you say that you’re a child at heart, or that you have an old soul?
I'd lean towards being more of a child at heart. I'm fairly easily amused, and I think my world-view might be a bit too simplistic to be one of an old soul.

15. Which Hogwarts House do you think that the Sorting Hat would place you in?
I have absolutely no idea. I might be placed in Hufflepuff, as that House has the qualities I admire most - but at the same time, I don't think that I really always fulfil all the requirements. Possibly Slytherin? I'm fairly ambitious. I don't think I'm brave enough to be Gryffindor and I don't care about cleverness enough to be a Ravenclaw, so I really don't know. *dithers*

Pictures!

My friend told me I look stoned in these pictures. I was going for "beautiful and elusive", so clearly my career as a top model will be quite an uphill slog.
