I have done a stupid thing, and am hoping someone can suggest a way to fix it.
We're partially DIY-ing our wedding invitations. Part of this process involved ordering shiny pocketfolds from
Cards & Pockets and stamping our wedding logo on. The stamps turned out nicely:
Now, I DID do a test stamp back in mid-November (before the custom stamp came in), and when I brushed my finger over the old test stamp the next day, it didn't smudge.
But I apparently used less ink on the test than I did on the invitations. They've been sitting out to dry for three days, and the one I'm using as a tester from that set (a screw-up from early on in the process) still smudges at reasonably light touches.
Hell, if I press somewhat firmly on the old test stamp (from a month and a half ago!), it ALSO smudges (albeit less so).
with spray-on shellacs, I'm concerned that the pocketfold paper would either lose its shine, or shine differently in that area, or otherwise look weird, so I'd really prefer something with a more matte finish.
I bought a test can of "Design Master: Super Surface Sealer", which claims to be a clear sealer with a satin finish, and tried it out. It caused the stamp ink to run pretty badly, which won't work.
I'd really prefer not to have to junk the pocketfolds and buy new, so... how can I salvage this? I've checked through the memories in the community here, and didn't really see anything applicable.
Thank you much for any advice, and Happy New Year!
