I'm not sure I'm the right one to ask on the color, one more thought on wool suppliers (since you needed more choices...):

Knitpicks Wool of the Andes http://www.knitpicks.com/yarns/Wool_of_the_Andes_Worsted_Yarn__D5420103.html
$1.99 for 110 yds worsted
has a couple possible colors also, and is much cheaper.

It think Gianetta is right about a brighter shade of blue. What's the point in fringing the pikes if noboby will notice. Besides, Isobel's chequey garters are very bright; a little brighter even than the Cascade 220 - Turquoise (# 9468).

If we want shiny, grab-your-eyes blue, there was a light blue silk/wool blend that was I think somewhere around the color of the chequey garters.... I might get several kinds, and bring them, and what doesn't get used, I'll just have to make something out of. The horror, the tragedy... :)

Haven't tried there. The yarn that I was pulling websites for was all at Fiberworks on N. Fairfield Road (on the left hand side of the street, right before the turn lane starts for Dayton-Xenia Rd).
Drea also very unhelpfully pointed out that Halcyon yarn currently has free shipping....
There's some wool/silk blend that practically glows... I'm tempted :) It's shiny!
