Safe and sound in VA, at the grandparents house. Now to try and figure out when things are getting started tomorrow (or when'd be a good time to show up). I know that Sunday is drill at 10am.

We tested one recipe last weekend - an adaptation of Drea's quiche recipe for pasties. The "adaptation" is to get rid of most of the liquid....
Today, I tried this recipe, with the original version from the cookbook. I think I had around 1.5 pounds of chicken, but kept the rest of the stuff the same. Oh, and I made pasties instead of a bigger ( Read more... ) -

Boss-man had some fall-out money to be used for training, and since I haven't gone on TDY for any training in, like, 2 years or so, I got tagged. One of the guys at work pointed out that one of the ceiling tiles by Crazy Bob's desk has mold now growing it. Last time I'd looked up (it's been a while), there was just the normal rust-colored water damage. The mold looks like it's eaten some of the ceiling tile away. It's disgusting ( Read more... ) -

Had peas tonight with dinner. Will have green beans tomorrow night and probably the next. There's still some more peas left on the pea plants, but the double handful of pea pods I'd pulled off seemed like a lot - at least until I'd shelled the peas ( Read more... ) -

So here's my plans for free-time this week. I have lumber to make the collapsible camp bed for Pennsic (well, siderails and bedposts). Yay!!
