I'm the only Macintosh guy in our IT department here at Truth & Virtue Tech, so whenever a student comes in with a Macintosh issue, the network guys bring them to me, even though handling such things isn't officially my job

OMG...

This stuff is cool, but somehow I just don't know if I could bring myself to stick stuff on, or disassemble and paint a brand new piece of expensive gadgetry.

I've seen people pull some interesting tricks with the older clear-lid iBooks by painting the inside of the cover. But once they got opaque, well...

Just 'cause that material scratches so easily, I covered my both top and bottom with clingy vinyl, cut to fit. It's accumulated lots of stickers (to cover the air bubbles that wouldn't go away at first), but I couldn't bring myself to attach anything permanent straight on the surface either.
