Title: Like Summer Rain
Rating: G
Pairings: Jaejoong/Yunho
Word Count: 442
Summary: Yunho never stays. He's just not like that.
Jaejoong feels it leaving him. Slowly, slowly, seeping through holes and vanishing from his grasp. It never comes back. Every time Yunho comes, and every time he leaves, Jaejoong feels a bit of himself draining away, and walking out of his life, just like the man. Every time he meets Yunho, Jaejoong knows that he will feel just that much emptier when the man leaves.
Except Yunho comes back when he wants to; Jaejoong’s soul is long gone.
He falls asleep with Yunho beside him. It’s honestly the best feeling in the world- being able to sleep with someone next to you. Jaejoong feels himself fill up with warmth and light, and other things he finds impossible to describe. The scent of flowers blossoming in the spring, children playing in the park, walking barefoot in the sand; Jaejoong feels the rush of all this hit him when he holds Yunho at night.
It doesn’t come to him instantly, like a tornado or a hurricane. It’s more like a slight sprinkle of rain on a summer day. It comes slowly, only several drops of water hitting the top of his head. It starts to sprinkle, just a little. Then it starts drizzling. Soon, Jaejoong is soaked in the beautiful kalopsia of love.
But only a few hours later, he’s hit by the hurricane of angst that carries along crashing waves to pull at his heart, tear him apart, and drown him.
Yunho never stays. He’s just not like that.
Instead, the coldness of an empty bed hits Jaejoong head on when he wakes up in the morning. No one is beside him, although he so certainly recalls falling asleep with his arms wrapped around another man’s body. Jaejoong swears he had fallen asleep with someone’s arms around his body. But when he wakes up, no one is there. A part of him is missing, having followed Yunho out the door.
If falling asleep with someone beside you is the best feeling in the world, then waking up with them gone is definitely the worst.
But Yunho keeps coming back, it might take him weeks, sometimes months, maybe even years, but he always comes back. Yunho wanders back into his bed, but the pieces of Jaejoong’s soul that had departed with the man never comes back to visit its owner. Yunho took them with him when he left, and discarded it by the roadside, or stuck it somewhere deep and dark, hiding it from the world. Jaejoong will never find it again.
One day, Yunho comes back to find nothing left of Jaejoong and he doesn’t exactly know what to make out of it.
