I just don't get it! I'm great at meditating, but it isn't working.

I listen, and listen, and listen, but I can't hear any of these spirits. Maybe I'm not listening hard enough.

Does magic just not work for some people?

I didn't mean the spirit himself. [Sigh. Damn you, Sokka.] I meant try making a fire. The guide says that Eferin is usually in the woods, but it's not exactly safe to go there by yourself. [And yes. This is Katara saying something's not safe.] But they're also attracted to their elements. If you light a fire, and start talking about things that you loved about the Fire Nation... maybe he'll stop by to listen.

That could be true. But still...if you haven't been here long, give it a little time? It can take some of the spirits a while to warm up to you. Some are shy or picky.

I've been here for a little while. But I haven't been trying this listening thing for that long.

Then maybe all you need is a little more listening, or friendlier spirits. I think the wind and healing spirits are the easiest to reach. They might find you soon.

Maybe if you try to start a conversation they'll answer. Sometimes listening isn't the only way.

They seem pretty talkative here. I haven't met the ones mentioned in the guides yet but the smaller spirits seem vocal enough.

I'm a lot better at talking than listening. Maybe that would work.
