I need Feedback!

People! I need Feedback!
I'm trying to make something out of all the writing that I've been doing at stusik-i-sharik... Something that might help us financially with continuing our trip. I would like to apply to some small e-magazines first, and maybe even publish/e-publish a b... boo.. b... I can't say the word. I'm a little embarrassed right now as you can see ( Read more... )

Well, one question you have to answer is what will this book be about, meaning will it be about the world seen through the eyes of travelers, or a book about your travels. Many of your entries are more about how you travel than the places you see - absolutely nothing wrong with that, just not sure if that's what you want the book to concentrate on. While it is great to read those entries as a part of the blog, it's not quite the same in a book. As for my favorite - looking back over your recent entries, the one that particularly jumps at me is the one on Tikal. As for the criticism on your writing - it's hard to say; you have a very particular style, very much similar to how you talk. I am afraid that changing the style would take some of that away. OTOH, if you want to be serious about writing, you should get into the habit of proof-reading your entries. It is not just the spelling - proof reading also eliminates redundancies, unnecessary ambiguities, etc.

Good luck!

Are you saying you'd like something besides Live Journal to write in... like in a more professional web publication way?

As for your writing. My criticism on writing sucks in my opinion...

I find your writing and pictures enjoying to read and see. But, there's something about it (on LJ anyway) that doesn't make it sound "professional"... I kind of like that too though (that it's not all professional sounding... more personal). :)

Excellent :) Will be keeping all this in mind.
If I was to write a book I would have it "develop" together with us progressing in the trip and developing as both people and travelers. As for "human interest" I can only hope that travel adventures are interesting enough... :)

Oh and analysis... I tend to be a little.. ghm.. ghm.. judgmental (I'm told) when I analyze. Not sure how to deal with that... :)
