Anon who wished to read this here.

I must say, it was totally worth my asking. Your style is beautiful, ad it has a nice flow with that dark undertone. I really do like the way you wrote Liet, and especially the idea that maybe somehow, later on, he'll be able to push past and forgive for the sake of progress. I think that is a great ideal of strength, and one that maybe Liet needs to be written with more often.

feels his lips freezing with frostbite as he is given the coldest kiss he can ever recall.
I liked this line, too, just because. It was a nice line.

And I felt myself almost choke up a small bit at that bit at the end about them being independent. It's a lovely way to end. I think you did this tastefully, and beautifully. Nice job!

A-actually, I'm not sure how to respond to that in an intelligent way. I'm really flattered, and so glad you liked it and agree with how I characterized Liet! I was trying very hard to take the canon of him and make it fit an actual country, since the usual fanon portrayal doesn't make sense with respect to the fact that he represents a nation of people whom were unwilling to succumb to the Russians.

I'm kind of scared that letting myself say anything else will make me sound like a stuttering moron, hahah. So, really: thank you. ♥

It's okay. I have no idea how I managed to come off as intelligent either. I think it's because it was late or something. Uhhh...yeah. But usual fanon portrayl of him as a wuss makes me cringe, so I loved yours.

You're welcome. (And I really do think you should post it to main comm or somewhere, haha.)

I'm just here to say I still love you and love this fic. ♥ Especially the ending! The ending was amazing. Also Poland was great. 8D

Makes me wish I knew Estonia and Latvia better so I could make more sense and further flail about how great and epic you are. Because. Yes.

(I still fully support you being obnoxious and taking my suggestion, btw.)

DG is that you... I can never tell. ;__;

Yeah, I quite like Poland in this myself. xD You should somehow get to know Estonia and Latvia better, too! Himaruya even said on the character recognition charts that Estonia is the coolest character. c:

(Which suggestion is that?)

Really well made! I tend to avoid anything Russia/Lithuania but the way this is written is just awesome. The cliches are generally avoided, Liet has a backbone, Russia isn't all RAPE O'CLOCK, and even Latvia grows up a little. And the ending TT_TT so d'aww.

I might just ramble on and on, so this is the summary of my reaction to this fic:♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

T-thank you! I'm glad I avoided those cliches and gave Liet a backbone. A big reason to writing this fic was proper character exploration for me... so I'm happy to see that you feel that way! c:

I'm afraid I'll end up rambling too... so here, you get hearts as well: ♡ ♡ ♡

(Envy you for all the nice comment you got, but then again, I've never writes something worth it.)

Love this fic, although I didn't read every letter. (Hurt to badly. I'll cry if I did lol)
I like all the 'ugly' and disgusting things in there. All the darkness and despair. All the hatred and the pain. I love 06. part the most.
May be I should ask you for translate permission and try translate this one, too. (altough I have no I dean when did I become a translating machine like this...)

Ahh, yeah, I felt pretty sad while writing it as well, so I can't blame you for not reading it down to the last detail. But I'm happy to know that you like the mood I set with all the gritty and unpleasant things I included. :D Thank you so much for your comments.

And- oh, wow! It would be cool for this to be translated, so go ahead! Just credit me, of course. May I ask what language you're translating it into?

I would be translating it to Thai! If I have the time and guts to do so. (I translate one of the other fiction before, that one made me cry. As soon as I do this, I have a feeling that I'll cry to this too. Seems like Hetalia have made me cry so many times)

Yeah, about all the unpleasant thing you include. That was really what I like about it. You see, most of the fanfiction or even original yaoi fiction I've read in my language are so full of beautiful things. They are all so sweet, sometimes fluffy. Even if is so hot and all, they still use words like 'beautiful eyes' 'soft hands' blah blah. And... yeah.. Liet's hand just can't really be soft providing the way he live and the way Ivan treat him. Beside, the theme is really dark. So the mood fits perfectly. It's not just angst, this has to go as far and desperate and all that.

So, I like it a lot!

I've read many fanfics with Lithuania, but this is the one of his best characterisations !
Lithuanians was firts nation that left Soviet Union, it had also very stron oposition during occupation, I'm happy that finally someone gave them justice. You know, my best pen friend is Lithuanian, she likes Hetalia, but hates how some fans are presenting hes country's history, this is one of not many fanfics that I'd really like to show her.
Besides seriously, Liet is strong character and he isn't always perfectly nice for Ivan ;)
I must say that I love all characters here, it was really perfect. thank you so much for writing this!

and uh, I love Baltic Way, some time ago I even made related fanart:

FFFF oh my gosh ;__; sorry for the spazzing but I loved that fanart to pieces! After seeing it I spent the rest of the day researching about the Baltics and other related events like the Singing Revolution. It's seriously what got me to not only love the characters, but the countries themselves. I wanted to reference it in the author's note, but I couldn't remember where I had seen it. ahhhh I feel so incoherent.

In any case: thank you so much! I'm really flattered that you'd recommend this fic to your pen pal! My intention was to show Lithuania's strength in breaking away from the USSR, s-so, I feel elated at your comment. c:

oh gosh, sorry for my incoherency.

R-really? I'm so happy to read that! Baltic states need more love and I agree, they are very interested and not very well known countries.
For example, as a Pole I knew a lot about Lithuania from history and literature lessons, but Latvia and Estonia? - almost nothing! They are all such ineteresting nations. I visited my Lithuanian friend in March, now we are planning Vilnius-Riga-Tallin trip this summer, I think that making people interested in other countries is the best thing in Hetalia, I've learned so many things since I started read APH. I'm happy that it gaves some attention for smaller countries.

I'd like you recommend something very interesting about Lithuania:

Oh, I love the Hill of Crosses as well! Thank you for the links- I had been fascinated by what I heard and have been meaning to find out more for a while. :) I'm also so envious that you've been there... I'm planning a trip to Europe in two years, but I'll only get to go to Tallinn out of the Baltics. Ah, and that sounds better than my history/geography class-- as a Canadian, I know a lot of people don't even know that Latvia and Estonia exist. It's really sad.

So I agree- these countries do need more love!
