Bacteria Art

One day I have to create beautiful bacteria art. Originally my biotech class wanted to do this with fluorescent proteins, but this looks way cooler.

I don't really have much else to say besides that, unfortunately. I guess I wanted to put something here other than my spectacularly panicky last post. Hahah. The most interesting thing in my life is ( Read more... )

cats, personal life

But the fluorescent proteins create palm trees!

That reminds me of Mercy, who was a troublemaker and adorable and my favorite cat ever but disappeared and has been gone for about nine months now. D: We've given up on her. Then again, there's apparently a story in my house about how someone's cat disappeared and a few months later, they got a call from someone in Chicago going "Uh, we found your cat..." (?!?)

haha I should check my grades from last term but I'm terrified. Oops. On break right now.

But these are such pretty patterns! Also, I created stock plates of E. coli +pGLO, and I accidentally made them into star-like shapes. They're so pretty under UV light! :)

Baww what was Mercy like? And... that's really random. And quite a ways off, Chicago. Was the cat okay? O_o

lol, I don't blame you. I'm pretty terrified about what my next report card will be like. :( Probably not a great average.

Hm, I don't know. Sometimes they creep me out for no reason I can explain. :O I dunno, for some reason I think some of my NMR scans are pretty, but I'm sure that's just chemistry dorkiness talking.

MERCY WAS MY FAVORITE CAT EVER. She was so cute and got in so much trouble, like that time she SOMEHOW ended up inside the cafe. She wasn't supposed to leave the house, but... always got outside. somehow. So I would see her sitting in a planter or climbing a tree or something and I'd just go, "...MERCY" and have to carry her back. And there was the time we were watching Lucky Star in her owner's room and then we noticed she was behind the couch we were sitting on, playing with a pen cap, and then she hit it under the carpet and tried to get it back out with her paw and then realized we were watching her and just stopped and looked at us. So cuuuuute. ;o;

I THINK THE CAT WAS OKAY. They show up in odd places.

My report card was... actually not all that bad! \o/ Despite dropping a letter grade for lab failure. Oops.
