Prologue/1st chap

It was 10: 45 o'clock. He'd had woken around 6a.m in preparedness for when he took his flight. Although his plane was set for departure at 12p.m. It was for assurance of not missing his scheduled flight. The reason for setting his alarm at such an early time; it was due to him having an art exhibit today before taking off. Not really having time to enjoy a perfectly balanced breakfast, he headed out of his condo at 7: 30 in order to open up at 8. It didn't take him no more than 30minutes to reach his destination, being he took a cab there. Just a few more minutes until the clock hit 11 and the exhibit would come to a close in which subsequently he would leave to the airport.

-"Well," He cleared his throat earning everyone's undivided attention. "I would like to thank everyone who had been able to come here today as well as those who have been supporting me for quite some time now. Without you, there'd be no exhibit. I wouldn't have ever even picked up a brush, if I knew there wouldn't had been atleast one person to supply me with a base; a backbone for what I now do, til this very day. Thank you and I am very appreciative." He held up his glass. "I would like to make a toast." Everyone followed with raising their own glasses. "To future prosperity, more potentially great creations to come, and to my marriage, feature wife and family. May all be well for now on." He smiled to the crowd, nodding before drinking his share of wine. The last drop signifying the time for all of this to come to an end. He bid his farewells, booked possible sellings of some of his work, and he had seen the people out. Thousands of dollars proven to had been put into good use after all. "Now that, that's over with.." He loosened his tie, locking the front door to allow him some tidying up. He began to cover his paintings when he heard a flush from the back. A toilet flush? "Is someone there?" He called out, thinking everyone had already left.

-"Oh yes." The voice came from behind him, causing him to sharply turn around. " I was just admiring your work. You have a substantial amount of talent on your hands, young man." The man walked casually past each canvas, meticulously examining the art.

-"I'm sorry, but the show has finished-" He didn't know who this man was and why he continued to linger around even after he had locked up.

-"Your new painting." The man mentioned.

-"What new painting?" He asked.

-"You are Mr. Kim, am I correct?" The man leaned over, looking closely at the latter's face. This man striked him as strange and gave off an unsettling feeling. "What was it called again? The kicking kangaroo...the growing bamboo..."

-"The sleeping panda." He informed the man, being the man already new about it, but insisted on getting the title wrong. "And who are you, might I ask?"

-"I've seen the picture-"

-"Painting." He corrected, trying to shine some light on the difference of terminology used.

-"And I was wondering," The man continued on, disregarding anything that was being said to him. "When will you be showcasing it? I would like to buy it. I know you've finished it already, it's just a matter of time.." The man's presence brought nothing, but an unnerving sensation. How did this man know about his latest painting and when did he see it? No, the question was, who allowed him to see it? Seeing no answer was going to be given, the man tilted his hat. "Well, in all due time I suppose." The figure walked towards the front door, not before turning around to say one last thing. "I won't hold you up any longer. Wouldn't want you to miss your wedding, right Junsu?" The door slammed behind the figure, leaving the young artist in utter confusion.

-"How did he know my name?" He wondered, feeling a light vibration in his pocket. Reaching in, he pulled out his phone. "Hello? I was just leaving, all I have to do is lock the place up- what? What time is it now?" He looked down at his watch. 11: 20. "That awkward conversation took that long?!" He shouted into the reciever. "No, I know that. You're right outside? Alright." Hanging up the phone, he made sure the door was locked as he climbed into the back of the limosine. "Let's go." He instructed the driver, pulling off not to notice the same man from 20minutes ago, watch them turn the corner.

-"In all due time."

-

-"The tux arrived at the hotel room?" He asked his driver. They were pulling up to the airport.

-"Yes, it arrived last night. The rest of your luggage have been flown out this morning. But, I'm afraid you'll be late. Your flight has departed already. The next one isn't until another 30minutes." The driver informed.

-"Thank you for letting me know." He mumbled, stepping out of the limo. He waved the driver off, going through the front entrance. "I hope everyone won't be too angry with my arriving late."

Kim Junsu. 22years old. Graduated from college with bachelors. An art major. Has been drawing since before he could speak his first word. And even so, his first word spoken was, 'crayon'. He was living his dream; a soon to become, well known artist. He grew up with the support and comfort of a loving family and a good group of friends. And now he was set to marry the girl he had never imagined ever being with. They had only met 6months ago, but they couldn't have picked a better time to wed. Junsu was at his peek of his life and following years to come. There was nothing better he could have wished for. He was sure of it.

-"Kim Junsu?" Two large men dressed in white suits approached Junsu as he was sitting in the waiting area. "Your fiance had contacted us after hearing you had missed your plane. She has arranged for you to fly in on a private jet. If you could just follow us this way.." Junsu stood up to follow the two men as they led him through the gate. They seemed to know his fiance, being that they mentioned her to him, so there wasn't much harm in being escorted by them. That is, if the jet was actually located in the luggage loading and shipment area.

-"Uh.." Junsu was about to question, when a blindfold was tied around his eyes. "What's going on?!"

-"There will be no asking of questions. We were given orders to dipose of you immediately. You are now obsolete and having you remain here is a threat. There are no means or ways of escape. You have no choice, but to accept your current fate." One of the men held tight onto Junsu's wrists, preventing him from running off. The other pointed his finger in mid air, dragging it down in a straight line, creating an opening. Or otherwise, a portal. Junsu was then thrown in. "Enjoy your stay, being that is your new home for eternity."

-

He landed harshly onto something solid. Most likely a ground of somesort, seeing he didn't know where he was. Everything was black and it was difficult to see around him. "Oh yeah.." Feeling his face, he discovered the blindfold still remained. Once he removed the cloth from his eyes, he observed his surroundings. "Where the hell am I?" Junsu dusted himself off as he began to walk, not knowing where it is, he was heading to. It seemed of nothingness. Everything of dark magenta, filling up the open space around him, as if it was the color of the sky; it just seemed like it was normal for a color like that to be residing above him, stretching across for what seemed like forever. That was the feeling he received. "Hello?" Junsu called out for any sign of another presence or life that might be lurking somewhere.

-"Hello?" A voice repeated back. A voice much like his own. Junsu frantically turned a full 360, seeing if he could catch the slightest glimpse of another being, but it was just him. He decided to continue on walking, thinking it was better than to remain in one spot. Each step taken, resonated into his ears, causing him to wonder if there were others here, did they know of his presence? Could they hear him as the soles of his shoes clacked against the stone paved ground?

But, there were no walls in sight. How could sound just travel back so quickly; and twice as loud? "Hello?" Junsu called out once more. This time more subtle. "Is there anyone here?"

-"Anyone here?" The same voice. This time, closer to him. Close enough, he could feel the breath nip at his earlobe. Deciding to do it slowly, Junsu turned around, hoping there'd be someone behind him. But, when he faced the person, he did not expect the person to be-

-"Oh my god!" Junsu immediately took a couple of steps back, eyeing the figure cautiously, not wanting to blink for the quickest second, for fear of what might happen if he did.

-"Oh my god!" It mimicked him. This person, that stood before Junsu, looked just like him, dressed exactly the same; from his earrings to the shoes worn. It was like looking at his reflection. All except, it's eyes were red smiling at him in the most sinister way. Junsu took a few more steps back, making sure he was a good distance from the thing. But, it just drew itself closer, grinning at him. "What's wrong? You don't recognize yourself?"

-"Recognize yourself?" Junsu quickly covered his mouth. His eyes grew wide at realizing he had just mimicked the thing that now stood nose to nose before him, staring him down. "I am you." Junsu spoke in sync with the thing, having no control over the words that spilled fluidly out of his mouth. Soon he found himself smiling just like the thing.

-"Why is it this way?"

-"Why is it this way?" Junsu repeated, raising his hand up to his neck, just like his reflection did. Junsu didn't know why, but he felt inclined to copy everything that was done. Seeing the reflection, with a knife in it's hand, and yet, his own hand was empty. He couldn't help to have a dreadful feeling about this. "I can't stand life." It wasn't true. His own mouth was betraying him, splurring out words that meant anything, except the truth. "I should just get it over with."

-"Get it over with." His reflection murmured, pressing the knife to it's neck. Junsu could feel the blood trickle down from the pressure being applied. He had to escape. Yet, his hand held tightly to an object that wasn't even in his possesion. He was becoming a threat to his own self. Closing his eyes, he thought this was going to be the end for him; everything, done for. That was, until he noticed that his eyes were closed. "Huh?" Junsu reopened them, finding the thing that had taken his appearance, to be gone. Instead, he found glass shattered at his feet. "Like a mirror.."

-"Like a mirror.." Junsu became nervous, hearing the voice again. And he was thinking it had gone. But, the voice changed to a more shallow one. He could be sure it was just as close, but still, the voice felt so faraway. "Like a mirror!!" It screeched. Junsu was thrown to the ground, the faint sense of two hands closing around his neck.

-"You damn hand-me-down!!" Out of nowhere, a man jumped down besides Junsu's struggling body. "You can't have this one. He's mine!" What did he mean by claiming Junsu as his own? It didn't matter for a moment, since Junsu was released. "You!" The man pointed to Junsu. "Go stand over there!" Over where exactly did the guy mean? There was no particular spot he had mentioned specifically for Junsu to retrieve to. While trying to figure where to stand, or if possibly where to hide, Junsu turnt his head to see a man about his height, with short styled hair, wearing green scale-y clothing, attacking an invisible force. Perhaps the same thing that had taken his form a few minutes ago. But, why couldn't it be seen?

-"He's mine." Junsu watched as it slowly began to morph into an exact replica of the guy it was currently fighting.

-"Oh no you don't!" The stranger opened his mouth, lashing his tongue at the unknown being. His tongue, stretching out to an extreme length, slashing across, creating more shattered glass. "Stop being a pest and scram!!" The guy sighed, once confirming the thing was gone. His eyes then instantly averted towards Junsu. "Are you okay?" Junsu nodded, finding himself staring at the guy as he began to remove the upper articles of his clothing. "That thing that tried to kill you. Her name is echo. That's incase you were wondering. A pathetic doll she is. It's so cowardly of a doll to kill by means of ripping off the victim's looks." He strolled up to Junsu, topless, extending his hand for Junsu to shake. "The name's Yoochun and I just saved your life. Now-" Yoochun pulled Junsu into his chest. Whispering into his ear, "How are you going to compensate?" He licked Junsu's right lobe, creating heavy shivers throughout Junsu's body. "The least you could do is let me have your brain. I haven't eaten in a while and I'm starving. I promise; a cute thing such as yourself, won't feel a thing. I'll make sure of it." As if that form of assurance would make Junsu less frightened than he already was.

He thought the man rescued him just for the sake of it. Just for the sake of doing a good deed. But, it now was proven, this (or what had appeared to be) man, was not human at all and only saved Junsu on behalf of his own selfishness. The battle was an actual battle for food. That food, being Junsu. To his complete horror, this being who had introduced himself as Yoochun, shed his own skin; what appear to have been used as an exterior, revealing forest green scales, a tale, long slithering body and a cobra's head. This guy, known as Yoochun, was actually a snake. Doing the first thing that came to mind, Junsu ran for his life, afraid of being eaten by such a creature. Just why was he here in this human foresaken place? It was like an eternal hell. Everlasting punishment for whatever he had done in his last 22years of living on earth. Was this how he would die? One minute he was on his way to be married. The next, he found himself in the face of death. "What'sss wrong? Are you afraid of snakesss?" Laughter boomed, causing the ground to tremble. The snake dropped it's jaw, lashing out it's tongue to wrap Junsu around in. "It's not like I'm going to eat you. I'm just going to open your skull and eat your brain. It's a simple procedure really. If you have another suggessstion of how I should take your noggin, then by all meansss, do let me know cutey." Was it the fact is was a snake, flirting and threatening to eat him at the same time, that had Junsu disgusted? Or was it the fact that this snake was actually a man before hand, who had called him cute twice in the past few minutes? "No suggessstions? Well, I'll have to do it the traditional way. How tiring.."

-"Yoochun, put him down." From afar, a figure approached the towering reptile. "He's not food." Could it be this person was actually going to save Junsu, or is this person just going to battle the snake so that person could have Junsu for himself?

-"But, I'm seriously starving. You can't do thisss to me." It's tongue flickered at the person who dared interupt. "I'll even share with you." Oh no, Junsu was right, this new person was here to eat him as well. "You're hungry too, right? And it's rare to have our food look this good." Again with words of admiration; further creeping Junsu out.

-"Yeah you're right." This person spoke nonchalantly, showing no actual care for Junsu's well being. "But, I wouldn't have his brain." It was an insinuation of some sort; as if saying Junsu wasn't good enough for him. "He doesn't suit my taste. Now set him down." Junsu didn't know if he should feel a great deal of insult or not.

-"But Changmin-"

-"Now." The tone used remained the same. Even if it was a firm command delivered at the snake. But, to Junsu's surprise, and
much relief, the snake set him down.

-"Oww.." More like dropped him down.

-"You're lucky. Maybe you're just too cute to eat afterall." If Junsu had to hear this creature refer to him as 'cute' one more time, he might just kneel down and beg to be eaten.

"Now I have to wait, who knows how long, for more fresh meat to come my way." It complained as it changed itself back to it's human form.

-"Let's get back. You know we can't be out here for long. She'll get mad." The one now known as Changmin began to walk off, with Yoochun following right after him. Junsu took no time to think twice, before walking in the opposite direction of the other two. Thinking he should get away from them as much and fast as possible, he didn't bother to look back, until a hand pulled on his shoulder, giving him not much of a choice.

-"Are you sure you want to take that route?" It was Yoochun who had pulled him back. Seeing that the hand still rested on his shoulder, Junsu harshly jerked himself backward from Yoochun's grasp. "Is it the whole 'must have you for dinner' thing that's got you freaked out of you mind?" Yoochun approached Junsu cautiously, not wanting to surprise Junsu or make him nervous; not that he hadn't done so already. "If that's what's got your pants up in a bunch, then I apologize. You're so tempting, I just couldn't resist." Well atleast he didn't use the word 'cute' to describe Junsu. "I don't know of any way to make you trust me, but I'm not about to have some other doll have you on their plate. You're just too cute for me to let that happen."

-"Stop calling me that!!" Junsu had thought too soon. But, here Yoochun was with the mentioning of dolls again, like before when he was expaining to Junsu about the thing that had attacked him earlier. That thing was a doll? "You're trying to talk me into leaving with the both of you so you can throw me in a corner and have your way with me!" Junsu was sure that was their true intention.

-"Whoa, get a hold of yourself. That's a bit far fetch. We just want to eat you. We can't..um how should I put it in 'pg' terms.." Yoochun paused for a minute before he continued. "We can't have our way with you. We don't function that way." Yoochun smacked himself in the head, realizing that didn't help one bit towards trying to get Junsu to ease up. Junsu once more began to back away slowly, keeping his eyes on them. From afar, he could see Changmin shaking his head in disapproval. "You can help at anytime." Yoochun was hoping Changmin would jump into the conversation.

-"Yoochun you shouldn't play with your food." Changmin stated. That comment set Junsu on a sprint. Changmin shook his head some more. "This is what I have to deal with?

-"He was joking!!" Yoochun yelled after the fleeing Junsu. "Only a joke- man like he's going to believe that.." Yoochun mumbled to himself fighting the urge to laugh. "Should I run after him?" Yoochun asked, seeing Junsu's figure was almost out of sight.

-"Nope." Changmin turned forward. "He'll find us." Changmin continued walking. "Hopefully before the other dolls find him."
