I went on a nice 4-mile hike today up a nearby peak called Cerro Alto.  It was steep enough to remind me that I'm not actually in particularly good shape, and I wouldn't try it on a day any hotter than today (the computer says the high in the nearest town was 67˚F, but I suspect it was a few degrees warmer than that on this inland hike).  The views ( Read more... )

I'm doing OK.

The ChatRoulette video is awesome.

The ML Star Trek parody is even more awesome, but that may be due to personal connection.

Your posting of these prompted me to re-look up the film my friends and I made in 9th grade that I discovered was uploaded to YouTube in this post of mine: http://sylvansafekeepe.livejournal.com/156842.html

It has sound now. I'm not sure this actually makes it better, but if you're in the mood for embarrassing homemade videos...

Oh, embarrassing homemade videos. Really, what did we do without youtube to share them with the world? :)

Yes, the ML Star Trek video is definitely many times more awesome because of the personal connection. I like that even back in 1986 Willets was considered the opposite side of the universe from ML.

Thanks for the chatroulette link, was excellent. The exploratorium seems like it would be right up your alley, hope you get it. All is well here. Finished the credential process and am now searching valiantly, and alas vainly, for a job. Better luck to you. Have a wonderful spring.

Oh, are you going to the Wildflower festival this year?

I replied to your recent email to me, about the WWOOF stuff because I also included Mary, a BiCo SCD person who's WWOOFed in Wales. But I wanted to reply directly to you too, saying 'I hear you' about frustrations with work growing over time but not knowing what's next. I'm impressed that you've identified some environments (e.g. museum) that might be more satisfying to you! Hey, good luck with that, and I'm looking forward to seeing you at Alumni Weekend. :)
