I love wildlife as much as the next person, but this sounds like a bit of a scam, so use caution.
I do know that there has been talk of exterminating some wolves in the wild (yeah, I don't like it either), but I can guarantee you that the government does not plan to wipe out the entire US population of wild wolves. The only group(s) who would be interested in doing that are ranchers/farmers who are losing livestock to predation.
Don't send money without researching all the facts, okay?
Well, the only reason that I didn't delete it without even clicking was because it's from an organization that I've shown support for before - not monetarily, just with signing something, or the like.
I don't think that they plan to either, just this portion of that population. I'm just wary about what might happen if someone didn't nip this in the bud - I'm worried that it would escalate more than anything else. *shrugs* I suppose we'll see some evidence of whether or not this is true in a few weeks or so. And I don't think those would be the only groups - don't forget the lovely hunters that are after the wolves' prey, too. They're the main ones I'm concerened about, truthfully. Plus, it has the chance to turn into trophy hunting and sport and *gestures* I'm protective of wolves.
I don't think I'm going to send money just yet, but I will look into this more. I do have SOME sense, thanks much :P
How're the furry ones? I haven't seen any posts about 'em latel.
Nip this in the bud eh?practice_effectSeptember 28 2007, 04:02:59 UTC
well all in all, this is NOT an isolated incident. If we were going to nip it in the bud though...you'd need a time machine. While I do believe some things could be corrected, like limiting industrial building on any MORE of the us, alot of the species that are endangered or on the verge of it, are just a lost cause.....We should preserve them yes, but force them to reproduce just to repopulate them into hardship or captivity we should not....that is just my belief. As a generation we have a great many things that need fixing from the previous, and those that came before them, and even still we are making quite a mess for the rest to come already. But as the other poster suggested, research is the key. With the war going on, theres no telling what would slip through the higher ups attention. The road to hell is paved with good intentions you know O.o

True, there is that. Personally, I like the idea of stretches of land that is protected for species to populate without contact with humans, or as little contact as possible (like, say, only having yearly checkups or the like) Also, this group supposedly has backing by some famous people - mind, I'm not sure if they're really backing it or not. *shrugs* I'll give my support in other ways not monetarily, I suppose.
Also, yis I am going to the thing - Haven't exactly told the parental units but I shall some time this week >.>;;;
