Lothar followup (followthrough?)

After I looked inside Lothar, I got a second opinion from Ifix. We then suffered a power fluctuation, and I ran like hell.

Before I strategically withdrew, I noted the presence of duplicate machinery within Lothar. I extracted a couple of devices for further study. After I penetrated the outer shell of one, I realized that it was a sophisticated transceiver array, capable of picking up both full-spectrum as well as subspace signals.

I plugged it into a display device, and realized that it was actually receiving a signal at that time. I processed the signal, which says:

"Great Warrior, project prototype III: new code is available for download to upgrade your systems and replace malfunctioning software. Please return at best possible speed to Sector 001." The message then repeats.

This explains much. Firstly, it confirms that Lothar's warrior upgrades were done on or near Earth. The transmission is broadcast over a sympathetic subspace frequency that meshes with hydrogen...I suspect that even without the transceiver array, Lothar would be hearing this 'come-hither'. I don't think we can produce enough jamming power to block the come-hither signal, and discovering what is wrong with his code would be up to Ifix.

His poetry is getting worse. This may be a reflection of further degredations of his systems. Note to self: stay out of his way.
