4th of July stuff
First off- I saw Elona and Theo at my job one day. Ya'll looked so cute!
4th of July stuff under the cut.
After work Monday (which took me forever to leave damnit)I hopped on the bus and the subway to meet Jamilla, Carrie and her family. We met at La'Fajrekjrke or whatever it was called and walked down to the Washington monument. The security was unbelievable, they hardly checked my bags or my bookbag (I had changed out of my work clothes) before letting us through. Whatever-- that meant no long lines for me. We met up with Carrie's father and brothers near the monument and we were going to stay there but then a police man came by on a horse and this thing was like a turd machine-- every other step it was relieving itself!
So we moved to a spot closer to the monument where the little kiddies were playing with a frizbee and hitting everyone that got in their way. Carrie, Jamillia and I talked and Carrie bought us dinky light up necklaces from a kid whose parents were pushing him into child labor. After it was over we left, waited for a hour in a hot sweaty crowd to get into a subway, and I got a ride home from Carrie's dad. What a nice way to celebrate the 4th of July.
