HALP
So I have some dodgy stuff happening on my little lappy :( :(
'Internet Security' has appeared;
It looks a bit like the Windows Security Centre, including an identical sheild icon:
But it is NOT windows security because this is:
The following box keeps appearing, and when it does my speakers let out an alien-sounding screetch (very startling sound):
the program also throws up this:
if i click 'activate' I am taken to a page that prompts me to pay a wad of cash to them:
something that makes me think this is suss, aside from the fact I DID NOT DOWNLOAD THIS and it is clearly NOT windows security essentials, is the fact it is claiming i have a file NAMED 'CHILD PORN'... why would a file containing child porn actually call itself that?!
it is also strange that apparently 'thomas FC' wants to hack me, that is what toms account used to be called on my laptop..
it has a little sheild icon in my home bar and i can't get rid of it:
I have tried to delete this program but I can't find it on my delete/edit program list. It has no option to shut it off.
The constant pop ups and accompanying screetches are very annoying/upsetting.
I am also unable to open or run any programs on the laptop eg word or firefox. The only program that will run is McAffe, my real antivirus. I have run scan after scan but McAffe seems blissfully unaware of a)the threats this other 'antivirus' program has been detecting or b)of this stupid program which is clearly some kind of virus itself, IMO.
HOW DO I GET RID OF THIS????? it had an icon on my desktop which i deleted but that didn't help much as I was only deleting the shortcut to it. It must be dodgy if it is hidden from me in the add/delete files list? McAffe is no bloody help!!
