LENNON ~ In Memorium :: 4/12/05 - 9/24/05
In honor of the birth (and soon to be departure) of the brilliant show called Lennon, I am now offering up some parting gifts to anyone who is interested in keeping this lovely musical a part of their listening lives for all time (and do not already have access to these recordings.)
Below are links to .ZIP files of 4 incredible recordings of Lennon, all spanning throughout the creative molding and reconstruction of it's short life. Starting at San Francisco's Orpheum Theatre on April 12, 2005 and going through to an ending at Broadway's Broadhurst Theatre... this show has meant a lot to me. So much since that first time I saw it back in April, I flew my ass to New York for a week of theatre and more Lennon. So. Enjoy these, because I'm putting these links here to stay (for now at least). Share the links with ANYONE you know who may be interested, I want these to spread to all the loving fans and followers who are being robbed of a Cast Recording. Now, onto the sharing...
Lennon FULL Audio - 4/14/05 (SF Preview performance)
~~ Includes many songs cut from the New York version, including the rare section of "Crippled Inside" (feat. Terrence Mann) that was removed within 2 weeks of being in SF.
Lennon FULL Audio - 5/7/05 (SF performance)
~~ Includes similar songs as above, though shows the beginning of a long road of changes, including the removal of "Crippled Inside" and part shifts.
Lennon FULL Audio - 7/7/05 (1st Bway Preview)
~~ Includes many song changes (i.e. "Mind Games" replaces "Real Love", "Look at Me" replaces "Working Class Hero", "Cold Turkey" removed completely), and added scenes, changed sequencing to make it more chronological, etc. - Still includes original opening and closing sequences featuring the space station and astronaut.
Lennon FULL Audio - 8/17/05 (Final Bway version)
~~ Includes new opening and closing sequences, removal of "New York City" as closer of Act 1 and addition of the song as opener of the show, and the final version playing at the Broadhurst Theatre (NOTE, for this recording only: Acts are not currently cut up in tracks! One track for Act 1, one track for Act 2 -- I have not cut them up yet, but once I do, I'll replace the links.) *quality on this recording is AMAZING!*
