I was following this via some of my online POC friends back when it all went down. I can only say that the some of Burners were totally clueless, to the point of being insensitive and downright racist.

Being ignorant is not an excuse.

No one should have to explain why dressing up to “pretend” that you are evoking the Gods of another culture is wrong.

Now, if only some of the frats down at UCSD could get the message…
