I used to draw a chibi a day. I think I lasted for more than a month, then I kept on delaying and there were just too many days to catch up :3 So yeah, kinda scrapped that project after that. :/ I uploaded those pictures on a fic draft/art LJ that I hardly ever use.
I wish you luck (and patience) should you choose to embark on the project :)
a few of the webcomics i follow use smackjeeves, and they seem like a well enough system (customization, easy uploading and archives, commenting, rss feed, etc.) so i recommend them. and don't worry about it looking "like crap" (i'm sure it won't.) a lot of webcomics that are popular now started out looking sub-par. the key is a good story and lovable characters, and i have the feeling your project will be chock-full of that. :D
also once this project has begun i will totally watch it via rss. oh how i love lj's feed feature -makes love to it-
I was between Comicgenesis and another I can't remember the name of (self you are stupid). I'll check out smackjeeves though. And yeah, that's exactly how I feel at the moment. Going back to the old El Goonish Shive comics makes me feel better.
I'm already in love with my characters, lol. I just need to give them better names (most of the working names are just the name of the gemstone they draw power from, except the main character who has a nickname and the love interest who has a proper name).
