AMAZING. It was AMAZING. I really don't think I could've picked a better show to be my first. I really enjoyed the whole show. And I was happy that all of the cast was there. I'll try to condense this review as much as I can, so I don't make this crazy long post.
Rent: Fantastic.
One Song Glory: Cary Shields performed this song beautifully.
Light My Candle: I really liked this song. I wasn't so much a fan of it when I heard it from the OBCR, but I really thought it was good once I heard it live. Karmine Alers was great as Mimi.
Today 4 U: ♥
You'll See: Once again, it was great.
Tango: Maureen : This song was great. They made it funny, and Drew Lachey and Merle Dandridge have great voices.
Life Support: Beautiful.
Out Tonight: Once again, this wasn' tone of my favorite songs from the OBCR, but I really liked it.
Another Day: Beautiful again.
Will I? : This song was sad, but it was beautiful.
Santa Fe: I really enjoyed this song. At first I was like 'Why Santa Fe?' but I got it and I really thought this was a great song.
I'll Cover You: Justin Johnston and Mark Richard Ford both have amazing voices and they were great performing together. Wonderful song.
We're Okay: Great.
Christmas Bells: This one made me laugh. I loved it.
Over the Moon: Hysterical!! Kelly Karbacz was fantastic. She has a great voice and this song was so funny. And then she goes "Moo with me!" and I really wasn't expecting anyone to do it, but everyone did! And then she pointed up to the balcony and was like "You up there, c'mon, moo with me!" Great.
La Vie Boheme/I should Tell You: Fantastic.
Seasons of Love: I've always liked this song, and the cast sang it beautifully. And Frenchie Davis was amazing on ehr solo part.
Happy New Year: I really liked this song.
Take Me Or Leave Me: Fantastic, once again.
Without You: I really liked this song. Karmine Alers has a fantastic voice, and I really like dhow she sang this song. Ditto for Cary Shields.
Contact: I was kind of confused at first, but then I figured it out.
I'll Cover You (Reprise) : So SAD.
Halloween: Good.
Goodbye, Love: Great performance by everyone, kind of a sad song though.
What You Own: I love this song. Drew and Cary were great, again.
Your Eyes/ Finale: AMAZING. I really liked this. (I would've liked it better if it didn't mean the show was over)
Stagedooring afterwards: I almost met Frenchie Davis. I didn't see her, but this guy was like "If you want an autograph, you're already missing one." So I went down there and by the time I got to her she was starting to walk away.
Drew was kinda swarmed and he didn't see me so I didn't meet him either. Merle Dandridge was kind of in a rush to leave, so I decided not to ask her.
I DID meet Cary Shields and Kelly Karbacz. Cary signed my playbill and I asked for a picture and he said okay, just hang on. He took a pcture with someone and signed for them, then tried to sign my playbill again.
Then I was waiting for Drew and my mom goes "Isn't that Maureen?" And I turned around and Kelly was coming up and I went "Oh!" and Kelly laughed. So then she signed for me and we talked for like a minute. She was so sweet. My mom told her it was my first show and Kelly told me she was glad I went there and did I like it? and etc. and we took a picture and then left.
(Thanks for convincing me to wait, everyone!)
To sum up the show: AMAZING. On a scale of 1-10, it broke the scale.
Sorry for babbling!
