That is as good a reason as any lol. It's quite appropriate. I think it's even a little satisfying when you can come up with a username that has such a meaning as that. Especially since it is the name of an original character. ^_^

My name is Kate and I wanted to just be kate but it was taken. Curiosity Kate is a saying used to describe somebody curious, and I thought it was cute so I used that. Although it seems hardly anybody else has heard of the saying, my husband keeps telling me I made it up but I'm sure I've heard people say it before! XD

I can't say that I've ever heard that before. ^^; Now that I know what it means I'm sure it will pop up in my vocab. I like that you chose curiosity as a quality that stands out. I think it says a bit more about you than just Kate. Of course having your name as a username comes with it's own set of special meanings too.

One day, I was on the brilliant website called reddit.com when one of the headlines was titled "I can't believe my son is anti-tortoise" it was a comic about athiests and I like turtles and so I took it.

That is a hilarious origin story! My cousin had a turtle named Splash. He lived for a really long time though. I wonder if the comic is still up. That is too funny not to check out.
