Notes - Wrote it after months of not writing fic, and abandoning old fic. I feel like such a horrible writer! But read and comment, we love comments. :) Unbeta'ed. All mistakes mine. Companion piece to
Five times Jensen made Jared smile (And made him happy)Warnings - Slash. (male/male) Fluff/Schmoop. And cracky Jensen? IDK.

Jensen's tapping his foot impatiently on the floor, hearing the repeated clack of his shoes on the cement.
When Jensen first saw Jared, he was taken by surprise.
Jared came in loudly, all limbs and smiles and nervous anticipation mixing in some sort of cocktail.
Jensen just looks at the man in front of him, tries to concentrate on how he's going to say his lines and stuff. But he really can't tear his eyes away from those eyes. Part of him wants to get up and talk to the guy--to see who he is, and to see what he should be expecting in the next few months or years even.
Yeah, right. It's probably the way the guy's so tall, and the ease he carried himself with.
But when that (huge!) guy stands up and walks over to him, hands in pockets and sheepish smiles with Texas rough lacing the edges, Jensen couldn't help but give a little start.
"Hi, I'm Jared." The guy says, so Jensen holds out a hand to shake. Fuck. Jensen's feeling his stomach perform Cirque du Soleil stunts and his brain racing thoughts to places he never would've thought before-- And Kripke floats in, a mischievous smile on him.
"Oh! I see you’ve met your co-star.", he says, and introduces them to each other. Jensen takes a look into Jared's eyes--the color of blue sky and green earth melding--He wonders what Jared looks like, smiling, if he was going to be more striking, more charming than before, and before he knows it, he can't help but smile.
Jared returns the smile, and Jensen can't help but visibly rub the smile off his face as he walks out of the building.
In the good way, of course.
Jensen remembers his new co-star when he feels the hot breeze on his cheek and sees the sun's glint on his car's windshield as he pulls out of the parking lot.

It's already been a week's worth of shooting episodes, and Jensen's just loving this! It was beginning to get a little tiring though, since everyone on set had been working way too hard to get an episode that could rake in the ratings.
Jensen was thinking of basking in the heat of the L.A. sun, or better yet, Texas, (although he hadn't been back in ages), when Jared took a seat on the plastic chair beside him.
"Hey Jen?" Jared asks, so Jensen moves his head a little to the left to look at him. He notices that Jared's hands are fumbling in Sam's jacket.
"Yeah man?" Jensen asks back. Jared speaks slower, cautious even. Jensen's this close to telling Jared to finally say it, whatever it is, but he didn't want Jared to think he was being rude, so he fixes his eyes on Jared's eyes instead.
“I was thinking if uh-," Jared stammers, "if you wanted to. We could, um-”
Jensen's feeling a little awkward here, and he flashbacks to days during highschool, when he was too shy to ask that pretty girl he saw to dance with him. It's exactly the same awkward here, but he couldn't pin down the why.
He asks himself when Jared started calling him Jen, and bringing himself back to the conversation, he thinks Jared looks like a puppy he had when he was around 10, all puppy-dog eyes and hesitant. Something in him instinctively wants to take away that hesitation, so he smiles what he thinks is a little encouraging smile. Once he starts smiling though, he can't stop it: building across his lips, spreading like a contagious cold, until it becomes a full-blown smile as his eyes prod Jared to continue.
"Well?" he asks, raising his eyebrow in a prototype of Dean's Eyebrow Raise. Smiling happily like a goof, of course.
Jared’s stopped in mid-sentence, and a several awkward seconds are spent looking at each other, the crew's noise vaguely in the background.
“Oh.” Jared begins to articulate. “I meant, uh, if you wanted, we could hang out at some bar downtown.”
So that was it? All that tension for this? “Sure.” He says. He could use the distraction.
Jared gives a relieved, almost ecstatic smile, and Jensen feels his jaw aching, but his heart's beating too fast for normal and he feels heat crawling up his collar.
When Jared turns and leaves, Jensen tries to do Dean's sarcastic smirk, and fails. He gives a little laugh instead and watches Jared's back leaving.

It's a day-off, but only for the day--something had to be fixed apparently, and they couldn't shoot. He'd been leisurely enjoying his sleep when he suddenly heard gunshots--
He wakes in a hurry, adrenaline pumping so sudden, when he realizes that it's just someone knocking on his door. "Damn." Jensen says under his breath as he puts on a pair of jeans lying on the floor.
"Jen! Jen!" and then three more knocks. "Jen! Jen? Jen!" and then the knocks get louder, more insistent. Jensen's trying his best to get to the door fast while trying to zip his fly and look a little like he had not just woken up. A mirror beside the door tells him his hair is ruffled and he tries to pat it down as he opens the door.
“Mm?” Jensen opens the door, trying to summon the thought of getting pissed at being woken up for no good reason.
“Jen!” Jared says a little too enthusiastically.
“Yeah?” Jensen asks, hearing his voice crack from sleep.
“Wanna go with me to this coffee place just downtown Jen?” Jared asks, his eyes saying pleasegopleasegopleasego and his smile so eager.
Jensen wonders why someone would even bother driving to someone else's place just to ask them out for morning coffee. It didn't make any sense, unless they were in a relationship--unless they were boyfriends, and Jensen's thoughts get the better of him. He tries to drive the thought of boyfriends out his brain while asking Jared: "What?" he says, not meaning to make his voice sound that side of sarcastic.
“You heard me.” he says, so excited it was obvious that he was oblivious to the snark.
Jensen opts to stop thinking for now, because his brain obviously seemed to want to bother him in that special way, so he just let Jared in and tiredly fell on his own couch.
"Well?" Jared sits on the chair adjacent to Jensen. "Well what?" Jensen asks, trying to remember if he had any instant coffee instead, or food to eat, when he realizes he hadn't done the grocery yet.
Jared smiles at Jensen, all goofy and hyper.
“Come on!” Jared urges Jen.
He lets out a sigh and thinks of all the sleep he could be getting now. But Jared's eager, and his smile contagious, so Jensen just gives in. "Fine,” he says, looking at Jared. “I’m going.”
He grabs his jacket and smiles at Jared, thinking that had it been someone else, he probably wouldn't have let them drag him out. He doesn't realize that he's taking Jared's hand and leading him out his apartment while his other hand searches for the key to lock his door.
Jared chuckles, and Jensen finally feels his fingertips on Jared's, and sneaks a glance at him. His insides feel out of sorts, and he feels like he's walking on air as Jared's looking him in the eye. A little smile escaping his curved lips, and Jensen can't help but do the same.

It was another network party, for the start of the new seasons. Jensen couldn't really bail, or call in sick, as Kripke had specifically mentioned the crucial-ness of him and Jared attending.
He had gone alone, and was starting to feel smothered by the amount of people and attention directed his way that he sort of wished he hadn't come. Or at least, hadn't come alone.
Jensen slyly peers above people's heads to see if someone he knew was there, just so he wouldn't feel so tiny--but he's walking on the green carpet, the one with the photoshoot wall and reporters and cameras flashing at him, and he's starting to feel dizzy, like he wants to just shrink in and go sleep for a while--and then he sees a shaggy brown mop moving towards him, and he feels all better now.
In his relief, Jensen just gives Jared a hug, his heart beating slower and relief washing on his face. He lets out a little sigh, a little exhale as he comes into contact with Jared's torso. He feels Jared relax more too, and pull him in closer--Jared's arms graze a ticklish spot on his waist, and probably something warm inside him as well--Jensen lets out his relief in the form of a soft laugh.
He's never felt this better before.

The time that Jensen remembers Jared making him smile, was during the start of the second season shoot.
It was difficult having to go back to the chilly cold when he was used to L.A. sun, having to sleep late and wake early all over again, that need for too much caffeine--sure all of these were irritating, trivial things, but Jensen has bigger matters on his head.
Jensen labels this bigger matter as a problem, a very bad bad problem that he has to get rid of. He thinks of Jared in the most random of moments. Sometimes it's just buying a pack of candy and he thinks of Jared and what Jared might want. Or it could be while he's walking and he sees a dog, and he starts to wonder how Jared and his dogs are. Or it could also be more frequently when he sleeps, that Jared pops in his brain, that deep voice of his, or loud laughter, or even the way his lips curl when he asks something.
Jensen doesn't like the feeling of this, this preoccupation with Jared, because they're both guys, and because they're friends. And either way, Jared's obviously not going to like him like that.
After work, Jensen's packing his stuff and Jared comes in, like usual, sits on the sofa.
“Jen?” Jared asks--this time, it's serious and careful.
Jensen tries to ignore the seriousness of his tone, so he doesn't look at Jared and nonchalantly says, “Yeah?” as he puts a jacket in his bag.
“I gotta tell you something.” Jared says, and Jensen stops stuffing his jeans into the bag and pauses. “Oh yeah?” he goes, and sits beside Jared.
He doesn't know what he's doing, what the meaning of it is, but he does it anyway, he gives in to this and tunes off his brain's questions.
It takes a beat or two, and Jared's suddenly saying something. It sounds a little canned at first, and Jensen catches Jared saying, “I love you Jensen.”
What? Was this true? Jensen's trying to absorb what he had just heard, and doesn't know how to react, good or bad or what, but he takes one look at Jared's worried face--eyes intently staring at him--that he smiles at him and and can't help but ignore all the red flags waving in his head.
He finally realizes what it all means. What this nagging thing in his head was.
“I love you too,” he says, a little chuckle escaping from his lips as he leans in to kiss Jared.
A beat passes, and Jensen looks at Jared's face--it looks half like it won the sweepstakes, and half like he's wondering when he stepped in the Twilight Zone. "Really." Jensen says to Jared, and a smile smoothes out the lines on Jared's face.
Suddenly, Jensen feels himself being pulled into a laughing-crying Jared, and it's the best thing he's ever felt.
Jensen thinks he's addicted to Jared's smiles now.
And he wants to keep on seeing it.
