I was jarred out from under my rock today when I learned The Get Up Kids are having a reunion tour, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Something to Write Home About.  Now, to my ordinary, non-idiosyncratic readers, that means absolutely nothing.  To me, however, it's a chance to relive my youth, and to recapture memories of some of the fondest ( Read more... )

Are you going to the NY show on May 1 or the NJ show on May 2? I know a lot of the shows have sold out...

Yeah, after I wrote this I checked the tour dates, and I realized that my choices were basically just May 1 or May 2. (I'm not sure I can actually be there for either.) I kinda hope they'll add more dates, but then again, they might not even be a band after May 2.

Back to the point: I'd rather go May 1 if I can get off work. I don't believe in afternoon rock shows. Music loses a lot of its psychological effect in the daytime.
