My classroom was already unbearable when I got to work this morning. At 6:30 AM. At 10:30, they announced an early closing. At 1, when we got out, they announced tomorrow's early closing.
I envy the districts that are closed entirely. -

Spring Break!
It's 4:09 AM. I should probably be asleep. Not going to happen. I'm too excited for California. While California itself isn't such a big deal to me, I can't wait to see Lauren!
Also, too busy stressing to make sure I've packed well. -

Excitement at work!
The other day, I was finishing up my lunch before going out for hall duty. One of the janitors came into my room to let me know I had a delivery coming. He walked out my back door to help unload the truck, and I followed to see what this delivery was, since I wasn't expecting anything. I has a snow day!
Good: Hearing my phone ring at 4:30 and seeing "C Howard phone chain" on the screen.
Better: "I called to tell you we have a snow day."
Best: The sight of my nice warm bed ready for me to get back in and sleep as late as I want. -
Lesson of the day:
Be very, very wary of wine of dubious quality bought and rejected by a very cheap grandparent.
While I was emptying the dishwasher, my mom showed up in the kitchen with two bottles of wine she found sitting around somewhere in the house. Grandpa bought them sometime in the past, don't really know when - that alone was cause for concern. He wasn't ( Read more... ) -

I got such a good laugh today during one of my classes. As did my students and one of the security guards.
My phone is broken right now, so if the office wants to get hold of me, they send one of the security guards over to my room. So while I was teaching my last class of the day, one of the security guards showed up...

Chinese restaurant music is the new elevator music
While not as amusing as the music selections at H-Mart, which Mer and I always enjoyed on our trips over there, the Chinese buffet has some pretty entertaining music at times.
