tasting much sweeter than wine

I seem to be doing more spinning than knitting lately. It may just be because of the slog of the sweater. I just have about 3 increases left and the top of the sleeve shaping to do, but do I pick it up? No, I think about casting on for something else instead. It will get done, though ( Read more... )

Every time you post one of these I hang onto every word, reading like it is foreign science that I don't quite get, yet find completely fascinating!

*tempts with fiber* you, too, can learn to spin... :)

Aw, thanks! I'm always thinking it's got to be boring to people who don't spin. It's really simple to initially learn, but there are so many techniques to learn and try that it can go on endlessly.

Indeed it is! I'm not sure if I'll spin or if I'll try to finish off the sweater sleeve. Want to get this sweater done!

Nebula socks == gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous. And I don't spin and don't really have interest in learning, but I really like the way you wrote this one. (Spindles talk to you the way instruments talk to me, I think. ^_^ )

You really know how to tempt people. :) I can't wait to see the finished product with your spun sock yarn. It looks like whatever you make out of it will be gorgeous.

After taking E to the festival he's been thinking of ways to make different things with spare parts. I'll have to poke him again to see what he's thought of and what he'd like to make first. I love the yarn and he looks at the crafting side of it.

That's really cool! I'd love to see what he puts together. :) I've heard of spinning wheels made of old bicycle parts and other ingenious solutions.

E was thinking the old bicycle parts - I have a feeling we'll be hitting yard sales soon. He wants to mess around with the steam-punk angle too, which could be interesting. I'm curious to see what he comes up with, though I might have to poke him into thinking about design again, he's got a lot he's planning on/doing right now with creative stuff - mostly writing right now.
