Please don't let the freaking-out re military stop you from chasing those bunnies down :-) I was a fanfic writer before I joined the military, and a Stargate fan after I'd been in for a few years. (I even got to visit the set the first season, while the show was still on Showtime, but that's a different story.) The military that I know is not the one portrayed on SG1 and SGA - there are lots of things they get wrong -- but Stargate is more about adventure and *appearing* to be military than it is about the real Air Force, Marines, etc.
I love Cam and Daniel both, but I stink at giving prompts. Since I live in Florida, how about Cam and Daniel on planet of hurricanes? :-)
OK, first off? Ummmm, wow! I know there are quite a few of my favourite authors on LJ whose journals I'm used to reading on my f'list; but I'm not used to getting up in the morning and discovering said authors have popped up and said hi on mine! I'm guessing Google Web Alerts are a wonderful thing?
Secondly, thank you so much for commenting and encouraging. It actually occurred to me later on that night that I can't really use military-freakage as an excuse, since I've written at least one fic in the NCIS-verse, in which I totally managed to avoid bringing anything military into it whatsoever, and if I can do that in NCIS, I can *definitely* do it in SG1
