Squee! Thank you for the feedback. Yeah - something about the whole Jack/Owen thing just jumped out at me.

Then again, as I said to karaokegal in response to the original prompt, Owen has *always* struck me as a closet sub who just doesn't want to admit it to himself... and who better to be a closet sub around than Jack when he's all dark and scary?

I'm not sure why it makes such sense to me my brain... but despite the amount of sub!Jack fics I'm seeing at the moment, Jack just kind of strikes me as far more of a Dom... (of course, that could just be my own twisted fantasies talking... when I say the Owen in this series is gratuitous author insertion, I'm *really* not kidding!)

I can certainly see him as dom easier than as sub, but giving up control in bed can be hot after being in control most of the time. Just to defend the sub!Jack fics. (Though it all depends on HOW sub he is. He still has to have a lot of control over the situation, IMO.) And he's just pretty all tied up... ;)

ANYWAY. He's definitely an excellent dom, and you pulled it off really well. Your Owen is Owen enough to be believable, I didn't find him especially out-of-character. :)

Heh... oh, don't get me wrong, I totally appreciate *why* people like reading (and writing) sub!Jack fics; and from a psychological point of view, it makes perfect sense, so intellectually, I have no problem with it.

It's just the Jack muse in my brain doesn't react that way, so they're never as hot (for me as I read them), as the ones where he's domming. *soft smile* - different strokes for different folks - it's all good ;-)

But yeah, thank you for letting me know the way I've written him here works for you, and that Owen seems to stay in character as well - the feedback is definitely appreciated!

I love your portrayal of Owen. I do think he is completely in a battle with himself at all times. He wants Jack. But he knows he shouldn't. Which is fun for us. :P

I'm glad Owen comes off as believeable - this is definitely the way he seems to me, but as I've commented in other replies above, a large part of how Owen reacts in this series is how *I'd* react (heh... given half a chance, anyway) so it's kind of a relief to see he strikes other people the same way

I love this so much. THIS is exactly why Jack/Owen is my OTP. There's so much tension and hurt and, yeah, Denial in both of them. J/I is just too damn easy. (And IMAO unsexy.)

On to the next bit...so glad you're doing this prompt. Anything you'd like me to do back...specifically something that would work for mmom, but really any prompt you'd like...can promise how soon though.

*Squeeeee*! I'm so glad you liked it. I think the tension is what makes them so hot... and yeah, like you, I don't get that from J/I. Although, to be fair I still have to see s2, so I'm open to the possibility that that might change

Trust me, there's NOTHING in Season 2, that changed my opinion about J/I one iota, no matter what "canon" tried to say otherwise. (I spent most of the series writing canon-subversion fic.)

The real tension is all about Jack/Owen and Jack/Gwen.

Trust me, there's NOTHING in Season 2, that changed my opinion

Hmmmmm, interesting to know. I finally watched Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and Sleepers last night (woohooo! on to s2!), and I really, really loved them. Much as I loved all the dysfunctionality in s1, it's so great seeing the team pull together, and I surprised myself by liking seeing that dangerous edge of Owen's turned protective when he was telling John not to touch Tosh again.

I'm not sure what I've read of yours and what I haven't... of course, there's a way to fix that... *grins and heads off to explore your archived fic...

Yes, there just is something about Ten that makes you want to hurt him ... well makes me want to hurt him anyway. :3 But then I have a kink for taking hero-types and breaking them down and then building them back up again. My personal choice for breaking Ten is the Master, or maybe a broken!Rose. But now that I think about it, Jack would most definitely work as well ... mmmmm, I needs me some good broken!Ten fic now. Look what you started! :D
