I always did find it fascinating that my high school, the most liberal public school in the city, resides in the most conservative part of the city. That map reminded me.

The 3% of people who voted for 8 in the Castro must be real masochists. If you don't like the gays, there are a few neighborhoods with a smaller concentration (like, oh, everywhere else on the planet). Maybe these people just haven't moved because they're paying ridiculously low property taxes de to Prop 13!

I wish I was naive enough to say, "We can't blame any one group" and expect people to believe it. It's a very careful phrase. There isn't one group to blame, there are a handful, and they deserve every heaping bit of scorn to be put on them. What kind of masochists are we to suggest that the Roman Catholics, the Mormons, and other bigots should be treated with the respect they themselves do not possess? "Be the bigger man" is the mantra of the weak, as though honor makes up for being beaten ( ... )

Clearly we need an outreach program to the Monkey Community.
I assume the 3% Yes vote in the Castro was from those who were so tweaked out when they voted that they didn't realize Yes means No.
