Today we built a new cage for the pigs. We had them in a temporary cage that was a two tiered ferret cage on wheels. We took the panels apart to make it.
It had two little levels aside from the lower level that the piggies used for feeding. Here you see Stella and Maris (who are satin guinea pigs, see how shiny?) lovin' them some hay and veggies:
And here is a photo (sorry, it's not that great because I still don't have everything cleaned up in there and put away) of the finished NEW cage!
It doesn't look it, but it's almost 7 ft long and is 30" deep.

Lily on the box I made for our last pair of guinea pigs- look at the pig-shaped hole!! I made that. It needs cut out more. There's a big circle hole in one side for them to use but when I made this, the pigs I had were 6 months and could fit through there easily... Lily is my biggest pig and she is so silly she tries to squeeze through the little hole...
Stella eating some "make-up" pellets.. They only get pellets a couple times a week- most meals are veggies. But since they were so patient all day waiting for me to finish their new cage, they deserved some nourishment.
Maris finally decides to come get some food, too. She's after the hay!
Lily's turn to hog the food dish..
