"Go Tunnel!"

Toby's first group agility class was tonight. He did really well, and I won't bore you with the particulars. However, funny story- we were doing exercises that were supposed to be "tunnel ->a-frame". Toby thought I said TABLE, and not TUNNEL, and instead of running INTO the tunnel, he zoomed right past it and jumped on TOP of it, stopping like ( Read more... )

I absolutely love my trainer, and class is always fun. I'm always happy to get out. Toby is, too. It feels good to do things like this with your dogs.

Life is good...

ROFL about Toby jumping onto the tunnel... I can just picture it!

And no... I can't say I'm surprised to hear that Penny might be staying with you. :-) (And I agree... with her history, if she's got the temperament for it, she could be a fabulous therapy dog... visual proof that an injury or disability doesn't have to be the end of the world.)

I happen to think that "special needs" dogs (with the right temperament, just like any other, of course) happen to make the very best therapy dogs! Who better to make someone feel more confident and less vulnerable than a happy, goofy dog who makes your day brighter?

Wow... Sounds like fun... I was thinking of trying an agility class with "THE BEAST" - but after Sunday's escapades - I'm not sure it's a great idea;)

GREAT NEWS ABOUT MY NAMESAKE!!!! I'm glad you found each other!!!

NOOOOOO- Mia is probably MADE for agility! :D Toby's insane. Come on- he jumped ON THE TUNNEL. lol. I think you should go for it. If nothing else, it's very much needed training for focus and is great socialization with people and dogs in a highly distracting (and very fun) environment.

And let's not put the three legged dog before the horse. Ross and I haven't even really talked about it, I'm trying not to push. But after these few days I'm convinced she should stay!!! lol

Well, she has had this same effect on every person who has met her, so I think it's a battle of wills at this point- everyone else so far has been able to let her go, though even a vet tech at the vet office where she lost her leg was bawling when she left. But...

she's here now and I don't WANT her to leave. :p

Ha! See? She stole your heart, too, didn't she?

Truthfully, not a person has met her whose heart she hasn't stolen (except the guy who had her originally.) Which makes me positive that I could find a great loving home for her.

I just have to convince myself that it's not MINE :D And I don't think I'm going to win that argument...
