[ Holiday Post ] Ship Tree

It would appear a particular Ensign, and maybe a few other helpers, went all out when they prepared the officer’s lounge for the evening. Strings of lights surround the tree now, illuminating the dim light of the lounge and setting a shimmer across the ornaments, tinsel and golden wrapping paper on the presents.

Below the tree appears a wealth of ( Read more... )

A potted plant sits under the tree, off to the side where it won’t be trampled and squished by other gifts and passers by. The pink petals stand out among the green and red, with a tag wrapped around its pot.

The tag merely reads:
To: Hikaru Sulu
From: Your Secret Santa

This particular gift is placed strategically at the very front of the tree and atop of few others. It is a nice green package with a bright red bow, standing out among all the others.

Once opened, the Ensign will find an interesting array; a photo beautifully framed and something else to keep her occupied buried beneath it.

The photo confused her, but didn't surprise her. Typical Frank to gift someone a photo of himself. And what the hell was he wearing? Poor Amara.

However, she was not expecting to quite literally receive a dick in a box. More than mildly horrified, she closed the box and waited a moment before opening it again. Still penis.

She carefully picked it up, and looked around the room for Frank. He'd really outdone himself.

Buried a little, beneath a few other gifts is a present marked “For Amara”. It’s a holo movie. Probably not the most extravagant gift under the tree, but definitely selected with her tastes in mind.

Amara smiled when she opened her present. She loved old Bollywood films like this, and she imagined she could guess who it was from. There were very few people who know that about her. "I love it, thank you."

Not one, but two boxes reside under the tree with his name on it all wrapped in shiny golden paper. “For Bones” is all the cards say, but the more interesting part is what’s inside.

The first contains a box of some of the finest bourbon anyone could obtain from a space station. The second, however, contains a small PADD with a novel already loaded to it. Upon further inspection he’ll find this isn’t your typical book.

The packaging for the Admiral’s gift may not be the flashiest, but once the box is opened it probably outshines the rest. Within the simple black box with a single red ribbon tied into a bow is a skillfully crafted gun of Earth origin obviously dating from before the turn of the century. It’s custom engraved and accompanied by a handwritten note.

Pike untied the ribbon, opened the box and read the note. He kept what it said to himself, mostly because he still isn't ready to even mention what preceded the demonstration of his phaser skill.

He took it out of the box and aimed it at the tree and grinned, it was obvious he'd done this before.

"This is beautiful, thank you", Pike said as he inspected the firearm.
