Lame and on time delay

Feb 22, 2009 21:57

Usually, I have people over for the Oscars. This year, I did not. Don't worry--no one noticed! But here I am, at 9:55, watching the show about 30 minutes behind on tivo. Alone. With a crappy sock to knit ( Read more... )

I noticed! I was disappointed that you didn't have a party because I had so much fun last year- so much fun in fact that for once I didn't think the Oscars were boring. I didn't say anything to you 'cause I thought it'd be odd to invite myself over or force someone to have a party. Damn, I should have said something!

I don't know if you got to this part yet, but Philippe Petit getting the Man on Wire Oscar- oh my god, that was the greatest speech I'd ever heard. That man is a miracle.

Also, an LJ friend said to me awhile back that she assumed that I don't post as much because I must be doing bigger and better things. I snorted when I read that, Nah, I'm just a little more boring than I used to be.

Hey, you can make up for the lameness by coming to roller derby with Jon and me on Saturday! I'm still excited about that.

*damn that first version was typo-laden...

I'm so glad you had good time last year. I would have loved to have had you guys over. I guess I should have said something, too. :)

I just saw the Man On Wire speech. Awesome. Watching the Slumdog Millionaire sound award right now. They're pretty intense!

I never post anymore. But I read! I just don't write well anymore. My good stories are long behind me, it seems.

Hey, let's talk about next week.

I didn't even remember the Oscars were on tonight until nine o'clock. I have to say, it's pretty damn boring without an Oscar pool to make me care about who wins.

Also, I've been feeling pretty lame lately too.

Also, also, I cannot explain the popularity of Twilight. I can only acknowledge the power of the fangirls. FEAR THEIR POWER!

Man, I'm pretty sure someone switched "Lame" to my middle name recently. Easy enough, as my actual middle name does start with an 'L'.

I started crying when Paul Newman came on screen and just didn't bother to stop. Kinda therapeutic, kinda whiney lam-o. I like to cover all my bases!

I love love loved the color scheme for this year. Blue and silver?! I'm so there.

I knit on my sock for a while, but got all eh after a bit. And to add to it, I just heard a plow go by outside. That depresses me--no more snow, damnit!!

My repeated screaming at the sky seems to have no effect. Bugger.

I noticed! I was thinking of you as I watched an hour and a half or so of it. But we are lame and get tired too early at night, so I didn't make it past supporting actor.

Rob Pattinson was the highlight of the Oscars for me! He didn't even actually give an award, did he? Just introduced the romance montage? The answer is: because he is Teh Hotness. You should come over in March once the Twilight dvd comes out (which I will be purchasing because I am a loser) and we can get drunk and watch it and then you will understand! Maybe.

Haha! I am okay with letting you and Tenille enjoy that hotness without me. ;)

I have to say, though, I found it odd when Gwenyth Paltrow kept dressing like Margo from the Royal Tenenbaums in real life, and I think it's odd that this guy is still dressing like a vampire. But maybe they're just really into their characters! Oh, to be an actor!

damn, i just watched the acceptance speech from Heath's family on YouTube...Everyone in the audience was so quiet and on the verge of crying....Im so glad they gave it to him. I figured the Academy would blow it and not give it to him because of it being a Comic Book character. The scene of him with Batman in the interrogation room, they should of just handed him the Oscar right then and there....just such a powerful scene...so so so glad he won!!!!
There is this website out there thats getting some buzz http://www.theultimatejoker.com, which is petitioning to have the Joker character retired in memory of Heath.
