I'm usually fairly unpatriotic...   not because of apathy...  but because of the strong feelings that I have concerning the direction this country is taking politically and because of the overwhelming consumer-oriented mindset that all of its residents are locked into.

But my political ideals don't trump the human stories behind 9/11.

I stayed up until midnight last night watching that...did you know they played it twice? I caught like, the last 10 minutes of the first time around, and thought, shit...I missed it. But then, lo, and behold, they played it again. Lucky me. Even though I was really tired because I'd been up really late the night before 'cause some kid of mine had a damn party in my backyard.
