Birthday Fun #2 (with pics!)

Jul 03, 2003 11:00

So. We made our way to the Angelic Brewery, where I was supposed to have 30 people for dinner. It ended up being more like 24, but I can live with that, because hey, nobody's perfect :) Anyway, we got there, and since no one was there yet and they were still setting up the tables, we decided to go over to the bar. Upon finding I was the birthday girl, the bartender said I'd get a free shot eventually, but in the meantime Dave ordered me, him and Al a glass of wine, and Jessie declined the offer. Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio for me, and a white zin for the boys. Right before this, we ran into Tim and Josh, and as we were standing at the bar, we found a Mike, a Liberty, a Colin, a Jenni, and perhaps people I forgot. Slowly but surely people began showing up, and eventually we moved to the tables, though Al and I stood out front until the majority of people had arrived. I was so excited that so many people came, even though some of them had to leave early. Like this sexy guy:

(John, your Katybelle loves you in spite.) Anyhoo, we all sat down and had dinner, some had drinks, we all talked and laughed and my friends made the acquaintances of my other friends, and even though some very dear friends were missing, it was a wonderful time anyway. Before the meal started, they tried to get me to do a muff dive shot, but since I was not drunk yet and I had just gotten pretty half an hour ago and not all my guests had seen me looking all nice, I refused. I mean seriously, I wasn't going to get whipped cream all over my face, and then wipe all my makeup away when cleaning up! So. Dinner. I had artichoke dip and a chicken caesar. John and Al had steak. I don't remember much of what others ate. I tried to be a good hostess/birthday girl and jump around and talk to all of my guests, and I did a better job with some than with others. Eventually most people were getting ready to leave, and they brought out a huge cake and started singing happy birthday. I later discovered that my parents had arranged it (awww) and then our waiter was kind enough to take a group picture of those of us that were left.

Hee! All in all I had that glass of wine, the shot from the muff dive I didn't dive into, and a Colorado Bulldog. (mmmmm)

Then, the underaged people left, and the 21 and ups were going out to the bars. The Colin, Mike, Eric people decided to be jerk-offs and go to the karaoke bar instead of bar-hopping with me. Never mind that they're all living in Madison this summer and can go there any night they damn well please, they decided not to spend my birthday with me and I was probably better off for it. So there. I'm not bitter at all. I swear.

So me, Al, Dave, Jessie, Dani, Liberty, and Jake. Forgive me if I forgot anyone, but I don't think I did. Then Emily, Graham, Sara and Sam joined us at various points in the evening. It was such a blast. Our first stop was Brats, where first I kissed the birthday buffalo for a free shot of kamikaze.

Then Dave bought me a Malibu Sunrise, then Graham bought me a Soco and lime shot, then I had some of Al and Dave's Vodka and Red Bull because they were being pansies and saying it was yicky and too strong. Meanwhile, Jessie and I start sucking them down for them like it's no big deal.. and it wasn't. From there we went to Wando's, where the girls all shared a fish bowl and got pictures of it. (left to right - Dani, Jessie, me, Emily)

Pictures of various people with it, all of us with it, the bowl on Al's crotch and us drinking out of it..

Whose idea WAS that anyway?!?!?! So after that was all gone (remarkably fast might I add) we hopped on over down the block to Brother's, where Dani bought me a Milwaukee River,

and Sam bought me (and Dani) a Dirty Girl Scout.

Mmmmmm. Both very ridiculously tasty. I don't think anything much of consequence happened at Brothers. No big. Then we walked all the way down to Paul's Club, which was ridiculously at capacity, so we had to wait a bit to get in. I did a shot of tequila there with Al though, and the picture's all pretty. :)

After that, we decided it was too crowded and they didn't have whipped cream, so I couldn't do the real muff dive I'd promised. We stopped in a few places but no one had whipped cream, so we ended up back at Brats. While up at the bar trying to buy me a muff dive, some guy starts talking to me and Dani, asking what we're buying or something. When she tells him a miff dive his interest seems to rise, and then she asks him "If I kiss her, will you buy the shot?" the long and short of it is I made out with Dani (for definitely not the first time that night.. I know, I'm shattering my innocent image for you guys) and he bought the shot, which I took off of Dani's lap. Unfortunately, the only picture did not really come out. Ah well. Then some guy was talking to me and Al, asked Al if he could buy me a shot (since I was so hot and amazing for making out with a girl) and Al's not one to pass up free booze, so he said sure, and the guy bought him a shot too! All the while saying how beautiful I was and he wished he could find a girl like me. Meanwhile I guess Dani and I caused a huge epidemic of boy-drool in the bar, which all of my friends found astounding and funny at the same time. Dani and I were a little much with the lip-to-lip but hey, it's what we do when we're drunk. And quite honestly, we're not attracted to each other at all, it's just fun to rule up the boys. And rile we do :)

So after the guy buying the round of shots, it was about time to leave. We said our goodbyes and piled into the car. Al took care of me at home since I wasn't feeling so hot, but I didn't puke, and I didn't wake up hung over. All in all it was an amazingly fun night and I'd never trade it for anything in the world :)

i *heart* my girls
